Default Anything else to replace besides broken axle??

So the outter joint broke on me while going to school, so I'll be replacing the whole driver-side axle. Is there anything else that needs to be done while doing this procedure, or is just the axle sufficient?

Nope. Go to AutoZone and get yourself an axle. Lifetime warranty. $75.

Ok cool. So repacking bearings, replacing seals, etc. isn't necessary?

Nope, just change out the axle. If your tranny fluid is old, I'd change it at the same time.

I concur.

That video is nasty. Funny how the CV joint grenaded before the boot even tore. My boot is tore on both sides. Need 2 new axles.

axle nut should be replaced. you can reuse them if you want, but after you stake that nut down a few times it gets all screwed up.

if you're using a pickle fork to seperate the lower ball joint, be careful that you don't rip it. i've done this too many times. now i use a pitman tool and it works great.

you've probably read this one https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=382416 by now, but if not it will certainly help you out.

Thanks a LOT guys. I'll read that up now, but the seller who sold me the car is gonna help me replace it. He's on the local Colorado forums as well which is cool.
