shopping for 90-93 accord
I'm looking for a 4 door, manual transmission model; I need some tips please:
What are some common problems with these cars?
What colors are available?
Is the timing belt relatively easy to replace(I've done it to an integra...is it harder/ easier)?
What is the replacement interval on the timing belt(60K miles?)
Does the trunk tend to leak at all?
Is ABS available?
Thanks, guys and gals!

Yeah, the distributor is a serious bitch and it will make your car shake and make a little low popping noise, espcecially when the car is cold. The timing belt, as far as I know should be changed every 60-80K. I got mine replaced at a shop, and if I remember correctly, it cost about $90. Also, changing the front brake rotors is a serious bitch. Its probebly the most hated part of this car by everyone on this forum. As for colors, IMO, the only nice ones are black and dark green/teal. Others are dule lime, champagne (mine), white, and burgandy. There may be others but I dont remember. There are several OE rim designs for 4th generation (90-93) Accords but the best ones IMO are like the ones that Dave (4doorH22) has. Do a search here and you'll see his pictures are up. 5th generation (94-97) Accords have the nices rims, again IMO, and they are a direct fit. Aslo, the 5th generation shares the same suspension and braking system with the 4th generation. And 4-way ABS is available, and so is leather, power everthing (except for passenger seat), including power seatbelts (but I hate them) and I think a CD player in the SE model which is hard to find anyway. I've had no trunk leaking problems. If there is anything else, feel free.
Thanks for the replies!
I've driven a '90 and the steering wheel shook badly when braking. Is this the rotor problem everyone hates? Do aftermarket rotors(for example, Brembo blanks) eliminate this?
Is there only one engine available in the stock G4's? It's a 2.2 liter SOHC right? Does a G4 with 150K "average abuse" miles have many miles left in it?
The timing belt service cost $90?!?!? I assume that doesn't include the water pump, tensioner bearing, etc.
Again, thanks so much for the responses. I need to find a good reliable car fast.

whell the shaking you describe is because the rotors are warped and its time for new ones anyway, yes f22a 2156cc, first thing i would do is a swap quite frankly, no vetc = no fun
I have a 91 accord ex, and i'm going through a **** load of problems. I have a 145k on it though, and i need to replace, all the hoses, the power steering pump, a bolt on top of my valve cover broke off, and my speedo doesn't work anymore. Not only that but in the past year, my stock struts broke, my auto tranny flipped out on me, and my rear pas. side window broke (cost a small fortune to fix). My trunk leaks but not badly, i live in az so i don't get much rain. i'm looking to sell my car now, cuz it will cost way to much to fix everything wrong with it. before all this **** happened i loved it though, if i got another accord i would get a newer accord because those seem to have less problems then mine. I would drop in a h22 though, cuz that seems to be the only way to get tons of power out of an accord. Maybe i just got unlucky and got a bad accord, if there is such a thing, or maybe its just its time to go. I'll miss the damn thing, haha. hope this helps a little.
I forgot something, i also had to replace damn near everything that has to do with my brake, Rotors, calipers, and other things that i can't remember (cost another small fotune to fix).

I've heard of the speedo issue on a few 91's.
Another issue is the common rusting near rear where the quarter panel meets at the rear wheel well. Either side of the car. It rusts from the inside out.
Had the igniter go one day leaving me stranded. Got another distributor and rotor when that went as well. Its been good other then that and the distributor one other times. Its a '92.

My 90 was nice till late this year when it turned into a POS. I had to replace both the engine and tranny at 89k, 8k between each other. The car was in the family since new and was never abused. I'd go with a 94+, they're better in terms of reliability and styling.

Warped rotors get hotter faster, and the shaking is due to the heat. I replaced mine with brembo blanks, and on hot days, with heavy breaking, it still shakes a little.
I've heard these cars go past 300k if you treat them right. But the 4th gens have many little irritating problems. If I were you, I'd go 5th gen.
I know a common problem with that gen. is that they get rust easily on the back wheel wells on the paint job. Another thing is some of the bulbs on the interior features and button burn out alot!
