hide away gauges (home made)
what yall think about my home made gauge panel for the glove box i have 2 more gauges on the way Fuel Press. and Oil Press. let me know what yall think about it???? its made out of a real nice wood and i spray painted it with some black gloss
i guess thatd work if your always going to leave the box down, i look at my gauges while i drive so id like to have them in my line of site for driving,

theres room for 3 gauges in there, its not visible to other people on the road, its not much of theft deterrent though =/

It's cool for a show car i guess but not too practical on a street car. It's too far away from the driver, occupies the glove box compartment and subjects the gauges to more jolts each time you have to open and close the box. Hide away gauges in the center console below the radio would be trick. I've been thinking about installing 3 recessed gauges there with a shutter that I can slide over them.
well the reason i am putting them in the glove box is cause my car has been broken into and my system got stolen so i dont want anything to flashy in my car
I intend to get an armrest & hide guages in there, with a panel that I can cover them with when I park, so if the armrest were to be opened, the guages wouldn't be visible unless the cover were pulled.

GO get some spray glue and a little vinal, that would make them look a lot klassy-er.
Wood on a car is only cool on old jeep wagoneers and new PT Cruisers, hehe.
I would also perfer metal, but not everyone has the tools...

i agree.... head down to the crafts store and pick up some kind of material and cover it up. it will look ALOT better and only cost you a few bucks at most.
sheet medal is really easy to work with.

i know what your trying to accomplish but i dont think you can read the gauges and drive at the same time with that time of setup =/
i dont even see how you could look in your armrest while driving either

they arent breaking in for oil guages. i assur eyou any person who is gonna break in yoru car is gonna look in your glove compartment too. and with these guages in your glove box, are you EVER going to look at them? my guess is no. maybe at 1st you'll say "hmm i wonder if my fuel and pressure are alright, woop guess so, ok..."

im pretty sure a theif is going to steal anything aftermarket, hell if i was stealing **** and saw oil pressure gauge or a/f guage or anything i could sell to some one id take it,
im sure a theif would check the glove box too if they were in the car, but thats not the point, the point is hiding the bling so that theifs will pass on
