Where are you guys finding 16" wheels?
I am finding lots of rims our there in 15" and 17", but I am having a hard time finding 16". I am looking for something to fit my '05 EP3. These will probably have Azenis or something similar put on them and will be used from April-November and over the winter I will put the stockers back on with the all season tires. I am looking for something gunmetal or anthracite and hopefully that doesnt weigh too much or cost hundreds of dollars per wheel.
I know I am asking for everything, but I would appreciate any ideas that you guys have.
Thanks

Rota Slips are available in 5x114.3 in offsets (40, 45) that will work with the new EP3 bolt pattern.
I have used 16x7 Slips with 215-45-16 Azenis and now with 225-40-16 Ziex 512's for the winter here in Virginia.
Here's Victor's car with JDM DC2 ITR 16x7 +50 wheels. They are available in gunmetal, too, which would look good on darker cars.

I've been looking too. I just bought a set of Dunlop WinterSport M3 snow tires for my stock rims. I'm looking for a good light set of 16" rims for my '05. The ones that seem to be the best so far are the Enkei RPF-1's. the 16's are 13.7lbs. the only place i've been able to find them though is a site called streetdreams.org, has anyone ever heard of it?

I looked at tirerack.com, because I bought my last set of tires there, but I was not impressed with any of the 16" rims they had for my car. I am not very familiar with the H-T vendors are there any you like more than others or have found to provide better service or bang for the buck?

Where do you guys get the Rota rims from? Directly from Rota or is there a distributor? What do you think about their longevity, I have heard some things about cracking with their rims. I have thought about the JDM DC2 ITR 16's in gunmetal as I have a silver car, is there anywhere that sells them on a regular basis, or is like anything else used and you have to hunt around?<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by adrian1281 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">16" work emotion in gunmetal

Definately like the color! That just confirms for me that I want something in gunmetal or anthracite.
Thanks for the feedback guys.

If you look in the wheels/suspension section of the sponsor marketplace here, you will find a few sponsors selling them in all their various colours and sizes.
I have bent a Rota Slip on the EP3 before. It doesn't matter much because the replacement will only be $100-$125 in 16".
Now...I want to make sure you know that I have <u>also</u> actually <u>broken</u> a Spoon SW388, a hard forged wheel that's really very hard to break. If that tells you anything.

Many of the retailing regulars will order them for you, but your best buy with these is going to be to keep your eyes open in classifieds section.

http://www.machiii.net sells them at a good price, and I've only heard positive things about their customer service. You could also check the sponsors, they also have some great deals and group buys.

What difference will the offsets make? I am probably going to run the Mugen SS setup and I would like the Azenis sport in 225/40, go for the short stiff sidewall. How would the offset play into this?

Higer offset (+45) will push the wheels toward the inside of the car.
The tightest spot for clearance (90% sure) is the drivers side rear tire. There is a plastic cover for the fule filler tube I think. The tire is very close to that already. A 225 tire may rub when lowered. With the Mugen SS suspension you should be o.k. with a +40 offset, and I'd be leaning toward that. Hopefully others will chime in to help you pick between the two.

Mine works fine w/the Mugen SS, 225-40-16 512's and 16x7 +45.
+40 would push the wheels 5mm farther outboard, and from what I can tell from measuring on my car, that would also be fine. I'm a little more comfortable w/the +45. It'd be just a teeny bit too close to the lip in the rear with +40 and 225's.
Would probably be fine anywhere on any road, but the car might squat enough in a high-G turn on a road course that it would come down and make contact, rubber-lip trim to the tyre.
With the Spoon Sport suspension and wide tyres on my DC2 ITR, I did this enough to draw comments from spectators who wondered what all the smoke was.

You weren't going fast enough to cause any significant suspension squat.
