I mean where do you think the water will go if you cut a hole in the hood? I know it's past midnight, but do you realize the question you are asking?

LOL. Why do you want a hood scoop? Do you want a funtional one or just to look ricey? If you don't care about more air getting in there just get one and don't cut the hole just bolt it on and leave your hood together.

Well if it's just for looks then go to pepboys and buy one of those plastic scoop/vent pieces that you can stick onto the hood. This will prevent any water from dripping into the dizzy, starter and alternator.
I searched on ebay for you. Here's the link.

sorry ... i wasn't in the mood to buy one
i was reading this site http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=13306 witch led to http://car.preterhuman.net/project_scoop/
after looking at the setup of this scoop when driving in rain... the water would defiantly get into the engine bay right around the air filter/intake ....
NOW....
will water coming into the engine compartment over top of the air filter off of an aftermarket intake kit affect the "performance" of the car or damage the car (hydro-lock)
sorry guys im just a curious little bastard.

The "roof scoops" (?) I've seen around are much more rediculous than a hood scoop. Maybe they are for fresh air for the driver? A shower when it rains? They confuse me. I've seen functional hood scoops on civics, but I dont think they "function" well enough to rip a hole in the hood.

Only functional hood scoop that ive noticed is for a top mount intercooler, much like on the Subaru WRX and STI.
No real function on a honda or any other car unless you are going top mount

exactly, "roof scoops" are for things like Baja cars or off road vehicles where the intake is routed through the roof to reduce sand and water intake

you can't hydro lock unless the intake is completely submerged in water, so no it shouldn't damage the car.
And roof scoops on hondas are the stupidest things ever.
Only MR configured cars should have roof scoops IMO.
