Considering OBDIIb-OBD1 conversion but have questions!
Hey
As some of you know i have a obdIIb 99 SiR in my 99 dx hatch, ive been contemplating converting to OBD1 for several reasons but i have some questions
Is it as simple as finding for example, a chipped p28, using a obd2b-obd1 conversion harness, then plugging it in the middle, do i have to alter the harness in any way?
what impact will this have on my OBD2 engine diagnnostics or sensors, i know i will lose the secondary o2 but is that it?
Any insight?

I ran one in one of my old cars. I just plugged in the harness and the chipped ecu and that was it. I didn't have to rewire anything.
It's a simple switch with a conversion harness and chipped ecu. You will loose the secondary O2 sensor like you said and the OBD2 diagnostic port as was said above. Depending on the ecu you get you may lose the knock sensor as well if you use a P28.

well those people (which I hate so much) that work for the goverment and check you damn emissions.

Actually that's one thing I forgot to mention, converting to OBD 1 from OBD 2 isn't legal to do as far as emissions go if you live in an area where that testing is done. You'll have to convert it back to OBD 2 when it's time to get your emissions testing done again which should be easy, unless you know someone that can "help you out".

Yes this is true, I was assuming the setup was all motor. Going back to OBD 1 with a boosted car may not kill it while it's being tested for emissions but it would probably make it run so crappy that it would fail badly anyway.
