Which Cam Gears Are Best for B18C Poll
Like the title says.. which cam gears produce the best power/tunning ability on a B18C. If there is a brand not listed, mention it..
I left out Toda, Spoon, etc.. basically listed ones under $200 a piece.

Myself I'd say the original JG cam gears are the best. JG has been making cam gears before many of the companys offering them today. Check then out at http://www.JGenginedynamics.com
Click on products and scroll down to cam gears. They have six bolts to reduce slipping and they sell for an awesome price $70 each/$140 a pair. I'll never regret buying a set for my motor.

str gets no love. which cam gear is the lightest one that doesnt **** up with the bolts. spoon/toda i heard its the same chit. spoon came to america n said if they were racing in america and their cam gear broke or sum **** happened they would run an str cam gear.
First I think this is a pretty dump poll, because, ANY adjustable cam has the same potential for making power as the next one. They all provide the SAME function: advancing or retarding the cam. The differences are: Asthetics, Weight, Number bolts, bolt location, bolt type, measuring scale, ease of use, tolerances on gear teeth, etc. So IMO this poll is simply pointless. My queston is how do you determine the BEST? I hate that freaking word. It should be sensored from all automotive boards. There is no BEST in this game, understand that people!
Now with that said, my perference is the new STP 570 Pro series gear and heres why: 5-bolt design with bolts near outer diameter for max torque capacity, quality bolts, vernier scale for dialing in precise degreeing measurements, even 1/2deg, oh and I like the bronze color.

toda and spoon use the vernier scale which reads from crank degree, not cam degree. 1 crank degree=2 cam degrees. just a little more accurate tuning. Other than that the're all pretty much the same. be careful with the ones that don't have the tdc marks EXACTELY where they should be.

well, like i said.. i listed ones under $200.. the skunk2s and aem can be gotten for under $250 for both, so spending above that on 1 str/spoon/toda cam gear seems pointless to me..

**** YEAH
I have a pimp set coming next week with rare color combo JG has made and i believe it's that last one i just bought wich are Black on Black finish with JG's laser etching and usual 6 bolt design to prevent any slipping.
As for any other cam gears out there i believe as long as u have them torqued down properly then u wont have any issues.
BTW..........those ST Corsa Gears look like great quality aswell

Like many people here, I was down on the AEM cam gears. At least until I actually saw them. Alot of people gripe about the fact that they only have three bolts (compared to the four, five, or six bolts used on other cam gears). But what nobody says is that those three bolts are 8mm rather than the 6mm bolts used by the others. So they can be tightened alot more. Also, I was impressed with the tightness of the sprockets. Unlike some others, there was little play between the gear itself and center hub.
