How do you plan on painting? How many coats of paint and clear?
It doesnt really the matter of primer because its going to be covered with paint, as long as the primer is put on smooth it shouldnt break through the paint.

I painted my rear lip frost white with a rattle can from paintscratch.com
Also used white primer by the way...Its good paint as long as you take your time, apply the right amount of base, and clear.
