i was pullin out of a parking lot last night and i was turning, and i heard a pop when i got up off the clutch and i called a honda spec and he said it sounded like my cv axle popped out or its broken. now im not to familiar with my civic yet and i was wondering if anyone has had this problem before and could tell me how i can check it and how to fix it, pictures would really really help

 

you are not really familiar with your civic but you have an itr motor in it?just a "pop", i wouldnt think its broken.broken you would hear cracking constantly.it could pop out if you are using the wrong axles,what axles are u using?

 

yeah, too the thing apart and found out the part that connects to the hub is cracked, and the joint on the inside of it was twisted, and just asked my honda spec and he said he get some gsr axles or ls, searched for gsr all day today and couldnt find one that fits, also said to try to look for some out of a 94 or 95 ls, , well see how this works, if not, ill be back

 

i believe its 95+ gsr axles,dont u have an autozone or kragen?if so why dont you get them from there,$70 plus a lifetime warranty

 

ok, i fixed it about 2 weeks ago turns out they were 94 ls axles, well no wonder it broke, im so scared to launch on them axles now, i really want to upgrade to type r axles because those things are just massive, but i guess ill have to get rid of my gsr tranny to do that

 

so what axles are you using?u say u broke the ls axles,are you using them again?i dont understand...

 

yeah, im using the ls ones again because there the only ones that fit, i want to use different ones but they dont fit into the tranny or hub, any with suggestions of what else i can do?

 

what kind of motor do you have?your name says b18c5..so why dont you have type r axles? why dont you buy type r axles?why do you keep getting ls axles if they dont fit?your "honda spec" isnt really that great of one. if you have a b series motor,get b series axles,but not ls.get 95 gsr axles,or if you want get type r axles...del sol axles i think have the same part number as the gsr axles if you go to a pro shop

 

well the ls ones are the only ones that fit, i want to get different axles but they dont fit right into the tranny or hub, thats why i bought it again, i was asking if there is any way to adapt type r axles into it without gettin a new tranny

 

dude what freakin tranny and motor do u have? i have a b16 tranny and i am using 95 gsr axles..

 

i have a b18c5 with a gsr tranny, thats what confuses me, i thought i should be using gsr axles since its a gsr tranny, i mean i know im not a honda expert but doesnt that make sense
