What do u say... T3, T-25 or 14b.. turbo for a daily driven d series?
hi wounding if u could help me out on picking a turbo for a d series engine. i drive a 95 civc. So fare the turbos i herd about r the T3 ,T-25 and the 14b what r the pros and cons on theres turbos? im a daily driver that wants a lil bit more pep! (low boost may be 6psi) also realy want my car to sound cool!!! what turbo would u recommed ??? thanks alot
i will just talk about the 14B
with the HF manifold i get full boost @3800
and once i get my custom manifold made, i hope to get full boost @ 3500
the turbo gives me great mid to top end power
i love it.... and i am at the stock wastegate of 9 psi
cant wait until i tune it to 12 psi and see what it has to offer
but my dyno tells ya how good of a mid power band it provides UNTUNED

From: hittin corners so hard you can taste my rims..
My T25 is spooled right out of the clutch.. like 2K...
but, after about 4-5K, you can't hear it scream anymore.. holds 6 PSI, but sounds like its got no more juice. hehe
even though its a 1.5, i can only imagine what it would do to a bigger, longer RPM engine. (my redline is 6K)

click the link in my sig about the stolen car. in my garage i have a link to a short video of my d16z6 with a t3 .60/.48 on 6 psi(dont let the boost gauge fool you, it read 1 psi high). if you want instant spool and dont want to go to redline much 14b imo
Nice vid. The 48/60 is my fav. on a D series, but for "zippy" fast just driving around town I'd go T25 or 14B. For topend kicks in the *** you're gonna need something bigger. It's personal prefferance (sp)

T3 is the clear winner IMO. 10psi by 4k+/- in most D16 applications with a junkyard T3 and a good exhaust. much better topend than most t25/t28s, more parts, manifolds, WGs available and they are cheaper. What more could you want?
That there is, but it is a great turbo for the single cams
