RANT: Greddy 52mm Water Temp Guage
Well..last night, while I was driving home, I took a look at my water temp guage...150 DEGREES CELCIUS!!!!!!
I pull my *** over, get out in the blistering *** cold weather, pop the hood and checked everything. No coolant leaks, no bubbling in the resevoir, radiator was full....and my water temp guage on the guage cluster that comes stock from the factory still reads normal
WTF is going on. So I baby it home for a few extra miles.
Next morning, I take a look at everything, upon starting up the car fresh in the morning the guage alrady reads 60 degrees Celcius right off the bat and climbs to 150degrees in a matter of seconds, so I know it has to be the guage and not my car overheating. Whew...so that took a load off!!!
So I check all of my connections, unplug and replug the sensor, nada damn thing. I am getting frustrated at this point, this guage is only 6months old.
Well, I take my *** up to Trizone Motorsports for Rubin to help me diagnose the problem...he suggested my sensor took a ****. Sure enough we took a new sensor out of the box and plug it in..voilah..problem fixed. I am pissed...I bought a brand spankin new guage only to have to freak out, pull over, stand in the cold *** weather, rip out my dash, and dish out an extra 60bucks for another sensor.
Rant of the day!!! Not trying to rant how bad Greddy is, because Greddy really does make good quality parts...just upset that I got one of the bad batches produced from Greddy.
Oh well..if this happens again, I am going to upgrade to DEFI..hahah They both use the same sensors, however, maybe DEFI has a better Quality Control on what leaves their factory. Besides, Defi=Gucci

you talk to greddy about it? you get any warranty done? i don't want to have a faulty boost gauge and be out of how much i paid for my gauge.
