Quick Question
ok i got pulled over tonight......cop said my turn signals are illegal. I have stock 99-00 si taillights and i have clear bulbs in the turnsignals. He says i need amber ones. Then he argued with me that they are aftermarket taillights when there stock si talilights i was like wtf? I went to the autoparts and all they could find was clear bulbs for the turn signals for an si. Does anyone know if this cop is wrong or what? cuz i need to get this fixed and find out where to get some bulbs if so. thanks

in most states your not allowed to modify your lights in any way...
i got pulled over by state police because i had hyperwhite bulbs in my liscense plate lights!!! still didn't change them...
he was just giving you a hard time... go to walmart and buy the amber
ones, they don't light unless you turn anyway!!!

actually yer license plate lights cant be any other color than white.

Agreed........... But he's talking about the bulbs. The taillights are stock and come from the factory with a white bulb installed.
The lenses are made to comply with DOT regulations.

Every Si I've seen has had amber bulbs. *shrugs* I dunno. I bought some amber bulbs from Super Autobacs for my 99-00 tails. I did go on a wild goose chase looking for them too.

Wrong there bud.....99-00 tails are clear and red the clear is the turn signal... the bulb must be amber or red. IN Ny state anyhow.

yup, but my turns are blue, but they look bluish white when lit. Have gotten stopped numerous times, neva for that though. knocks on wood

Just did some surfing on this and...............
As Vic says on MXC "Right you are Ken"......... I take it all back and the officer can stop pounding sand. The bulbs are supposed to be amber.
