I did a search ( urethane bushing install ) and found several write-ups on what people think, but found no how-to on the install...

Looking for an easy how-to to pass on regarding the install of a urethane master bushing set for a 92-95 Civic hatch...

Anyone?

 

Remove suspension peices that need the bushing(s) replaced.

Take them to a shop, along with your bushings and a few $$$, give them all to the shop, come back later and pick them up.

Re-install in reverse order.

And if you're going to do it yourself and don't have a press, burning them out and then using a hack saw to get the outter sleeve (of the bushing) out is one way to go - but at this point, the shop sounds like a much better idea.

Its not brain surgery...

 

Get a small press from Harbor Frieght like this one http://www.harborfreight.com/c...=1666 . Also get the hardware kit or borrow a ball joint press from the car parts store and use the tube and socket from that.

Remove suspension component and put it on the press.

Press out the old rubber bushing.

Lubricate the new bushing as needed. Press it in.

I kind of don't want to jump in here due to it's already gotten ugly, however;

Why not just tell the guy to look at the instructions that come with the bushings.

Its so gawd-damn easy to do this, who in the hell needs a write-up? Does your 'friend' need a write-up on changing oil, perhaps rotating his tires?? You work for a dealer yet YOU can't help him out - I mean, if you know how easy this is, why not just explain that to him??

No. we're not the same. I have urethane bushings on my car.

So, why did you turn this into a pissing match with a smart *** comment? I was looking for help, not criticizm. Nothing to say, then **** off and let someone else answer.

I reported this to a moderator, we'll see if anything happens. Doubtful...
