civic cx mileage
I used to own a vtec prelude, and got into a galant vr4 about a year ago.

Well, I recently picked up a clean 93 cx hatch for $1000 w/ 190k on it. The motor has 180psi across the board, new oem plug wires, new distributor and cap, and I just changed the oil and coolant. I threw in some ngk plugs (the 5's, as it had 4's in it before). Well, I was expecting about 400miles to a tank for some reason, and at the rate I'm going I'll be seeing 300. What should I expect? According to civichatch.com I have a 10 gallon tank, and it took 9.1 gallons to fill last time when it was really low. Another question - are the injectors 240cc in the cx? Could I have a leaky injector? The motor pulls fine for the miles on it, and for having 70hp. It idles fine and all that crap too. Search is down, so I figured I'd post. Peace.

if your refilling after 9 gallons. you should be well above 300miles per tank. what kind of driving do you usually do? i would expect 360-370(9 gallons) if your doing mostly highway and 330-350 if its city but these numbers do vary. also what about the fuel filter, airl filter, and injectors? are the clean? fuel injector cleaner never hurts and replacing the filters is easy.
I'll run some FI cleaner I guess. Air Filter is fine. Fuel filter is on its way. It's all normal driving. It's not as if performance driving is expected or anything. I'm coming out of a mid 12sec galant which i drove like a granny anyways except at the track (I lost my license for 7 months). I just don't know what to look for on the civ. I use a datalogger on the gvr4, and I know the same stuff can be done on a honda w/ hondata and a laptop. I leaned out my low fuel trims on the galant and got a little over 300 to the tank. That was with 93 octane, so I am happy w/ the little civ on 87. The little guy is really growing on me. I need to pick up a gauge cluster from an ex for cheap here soon also.
I get 300 miles per tank, and I've had mine since 88,000 miles. Now it has 153,000 and it still runs the same. You could get mabey close to 400 if you switched from the stock 8 gallon tank to an Si's 10+ gallon fuel tank. 35mpg is normal.

damn thats what i get if i drive like normal (shifting at 3500) in the city and my o2 is crappy along with my cat... recently ive been shifting gears at round 2000-2500 and it saves gas
but in the high way i can get close to 350-400 miles per tank.

I used 10w30 oil that oil change. I'm gonna try 5w30 next time. I also changed the fuel filter w/ a honda one. Starts a little easier. Still slow. 34.5mpg on the last tank.
i get like 230 if i lucky. probably cuz i got a really oversized exhaust and shitty air filter. should proably go check my oil level, and change my fuel filter. but i to lazy and my hondas are just winter beaters. I mainly sdo Highway driving. and it really is killing the car on the hills! not to mention mu clutch is sucking out. But i got my honda for 700 bucks with 170,xxx miles on it. runs like a champ... really needs new rotors but i figured by cheep autozone pads and change them every 4 months .... they are life time what do i care.!
