while fixing my alarm the other day i had to remove the plastic dash peice under the steering wheel and then one bolt on the metal plate beneath that. my question: is this metal plate really needed or can i just take it off to save dead weight?

it is a dash support and to hold that piece in place. so you kinda need it

 

ok thx i wasn't sure and just didn't wanna take it off and screw something up
