every shop/ tuner has different prices. ~$125/ hr is a good average. 1-2 hours on a simple bolt-on motor should be plenty. Turbo or crazy allmotor buildups may take more time.
just contact cheetah on this board as he is near you and is an excellent tuner.

Average dyno time is $175CAD per hour. Some say it takes an hour or two. Others put about 8 or 9 into it.

I was on the dyno for around 2 hours and it was $300
I dont think it matters what mods you have but it does matter on who is tunning the car (bnig name =big price and USUALLY NOT ALWAYS better results )

You're right, blowing up your engine is MUCH cheaper and MUCH less time consuming than tuning it on a dyno.

look at it this way: you spend thousands of dollars on modifications. you can't spend a few hundred on insurance to ensure those modifications will perform properly and keep the motor running healthy?
however, if you need to ask and whine about the price, i doubt you have enough vested in your engine for hondata to make a difference.

haha no one said i was going to blow my motor. i will pay as much as i need to dyno it all i want to know is appoximately how much. i was guessing maybe 1 to 2 hours but anything longer than then that then i dont think its worth the money. if thats the case i will then stay with what i have..
how do you know how long it takes to tune your car if you've never done it?
2 hours? did you just pull that number out of your rear end?
it takes different tuners different times. most can have it done within the 2-3 hour, and some have a flat fee for hondata tuning. however, if you look at more dyno posts, and omniman's buildup, in particular, you will see that people can spend upwards of 10+ hours on the dyno. that's over a thousand bucks on the dyno. and why not? if you have good parts, they need tuning.
tuning is EVERYTHING.

10plus hours with simple bolt ons wow people have some nerve turbo or fully built na but not i/h/e then thats crazy. tuning is important but 10 hours is sick sorry
The time frame in which the tuner takes to tune the car depends on how detailed he gets, if he goes over everything by 50 rpm increments then it will take longer then if he did it by 1000 rpm increments... Follow?
1-2 hours on the dyno and maybe an hour street tuning although not necessary when mild n/a setup. if tuner has a dyno, you get a better price deal, otherwise, count in fees for dyno time + tuner fees.
Since you are in NJ, you might want to try Jeff Evans. (Boosted Hybrid) He was charging $400 for a pump gas tune a few months ago.
He has a top notch reputation.
His Forum is http://www.evans-tuning.com
He is in PA.

ahah wats ur beef bruce lee. it was just a question and for ur information i just bought a s100. the guy said that it will take no more than 2 hours to tune and if i go over 2 hours he will still charge me for 2. i was just asking how long did it take for everyone else. but anyway thanks for all the advice the others gave.
You should have saved the money and went with NepTune and had Jeff Evans tune it with all that cash you had left over.
You are so close to a great product. I would at least look into it if I were you. I assure you Jeff's rates are some of the most reasonable anywhere close to here, and the quality of work is outstanding.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
