Default Dont buy cheap braided brake lines!!!!!

I bought some not so cheap ($80) braided brake lines from ebay on jan and I was on the highway going 220kmh when I went to test my brakes (stock eh3 si with front ultimates) and the front right line separaded from the banjo fitting at the caliper leaving me with no brakes at all, if it would have been an emergency brake I would not be here for sure.

So, stay stock or go with quality name **** on this important parts (spoon mirrors and amber corners are still ok as knock offs )

Maybe you should have tested them from a speed slower than 220kmph? Regardless, yes, cheaping out on brake/safety equipment is not a smart thing to do.

Why the hell were you going 220 KM/H anyway? You don't need to test brakes/lines at a high rate of speed. Most tests are done/broken in below 80 MPH.

220KMH = 132 MPH?

So you went 132(if that was correct) and pulled your e-brake?

Dumb question but wouldn't that cause you to fish tale, spin and or even flip?

depends on how much pressure you apply, if you just pull it up hard, you're gonna lock n' spin......however if you ease it up, it works just like your normal brakes, except not as well.... but better than nothing.....

testing brakes at 100+ mph....oh wait, I hear darwin calling, gotta go.

What's the top speed on those stock Si's anyway? Should be right around 136 I'd imagine...

It was 4 in the morning coming back from the strip on a desolate 3 lane highway. I had this lines from jan and had tested them allready but I want to see how hard the card could brake (not testing the lines per se) and no I didnt pull the ebrake it was the front right one that went.

I think they're both idiots actually. This guy, not so much for going 136, but for braking hard from 136 to "test" them or whatever. It's not like you can't figure out you can slow down quickly from, say 80 or 90 in the same situation. The other guy is an idiot for thinking he can do 200mph in a Civic.

from what I understood he wasn't just now testing them, he already had them on for awhile and just happened to be going that fast and one day they gave out on him.

Ok, well, whatever you call THAT then. "Wanting to see how hard the car could brake" sounds like testing to me, although not testing of the lines.

whats so bad about testing your brakes from a high speed stop, they SHOULDNT fail, if they do well somethigs wrong, thats why I did it where I knew that I could stop just by letting the gas go

Glad you are alive. Don't drive so fast next time. Be careful.

I'm not saying anything about whether or not they should/shouldn't fail, I'm only talking about you slamming on the brakes at 136. I agree that they're shitty, and may add that you should contact the place you bought them from for at least a refund or something.

Yeah, should have gone with goodrich. No problems with mine.

I did a highspeed test once right after I did my swap. Well it wasnt really a test. I was going about 100 and hit the brakes...nothing happened...just violent shaking. Glad I upgraded...

...and to the guy that said the thing about the e brake. Come one man. Brake lines do not control the e brake. Thats all cable driven.
