Default 4x114 ITR conversion to EP3 possible?

Im asking this for a friend. he has an ep3 and he wants to get the 4x114 because he wants a certain set of rims. i told him that most people do it for the brakes, not to get a set of rims. anyways, i wasnt sure wether he would be able to do the 4x114 conversion so i thought i would ask some of you ep3 experts.

The only way I see this happening is by redrilling, not very safe IMO

I don't think this is a very intelligent thing to do. 4x114.3 was only on the 96-Spec DC2 ITR and some older cars like some Preludes and Accords.

4x114.3 is a little unusual and your rim choices will be more limited. Moreover, the work involved in making an EP3 4x114.3 will be hard and expensive...definitely not worth it.

The DC5 and EP3 CTR pattern of 5x114.3 is much more common, and a lot of people convert to that so they can move the wheels back and forth between their daily driver EP3 and their DC2 ITR or other Honda/Acura.

The most wheel choices, however, are with the USDM early ('02-'03) 4x100 bolt pattern!

The Jdm 4*114.5 would install the same way any USDM Gsr suspension would.

There is no advantage in using the 4*114 over the US Gsr as they are the same size brakes.
Also, the 4*114 discs are going to be difficult to get.

1. You must have a McStrut car that came with a 4x114 bolt pattern in order to do the conversion.
2. You cannot use any old JDM 96 Spec ITR or Prelude setup to make this work. Completely different suspension components.

There is going to be no way to make this happen as all of the McStrut cars are either 4x100 or 5x114, unless there is some weird JDM or UKDM car running around.

Tell your friend to sell his rims or buy a car with a 4x114.

Didn't Tein make a conversion for the EP3/DC5 to use double wishbone?

I think it would be easiest to just do the JDM EP3-R 5 lug conversion.
