2000 LX- Factory keyless entry?
Just bought a used 2000 lx sedan.Has pwr windows/locks.Only got one key.Salesman said I just needed to get keyless remotes and have them programmed. Is this true? How can i tell if this car has this module factory installed?
I have a '99 LX sedan. Keyless entry was not standard on these (LX's), though it could have been added aftermarket (that is, it wasn't factory installed though a Honda OEM keyless entry could have been installed by a dealer or by the previous owner).
The easiest way to find out if you have it is to pick up a key fob and try to program it:

If it programs and unlocks your doors, then yes, you have remote entry. If it doesn’t, the fob could be bad or more likely you don’t have remote entry. The more involved way involves taking apart your driver’s side dash to see if you have a control unit, it’d be under the steering wheel (but behind the dash). Look at steps 12 and 13 to see what it looks like and where it would be:

You could also look for the different wiring harness, but if you don’t know what the standard harness looks like, this won’t help.
My guess is that the salesman was not exactly telling you the truth, maybe he was thinking of the EX line which do come with keyless entry. If you don’t have the keyless entry, you can add it for ~ $155 from http://www.handa-accessories.com (comes with key fobs, of course), which is what I did a few years ago. You would install it yourself following the instructions a couple of links above.
By the way, you have a chip in your key that is needed to start your car. I highly recommend going to a dealer and having a spare key made, the cost should be in the $20 to $30 range. If they want more, just check with different dealers.
