Insurance rates? Are they still extremely high?
I was reading up about this but nothing I looked at was all that recent. So I was curious to see if they were still really high? I am thinking about getting an ITR but I don't want to get raped on insurance then I will just get a EK instead. What are you Washington guys paying?
Thanks
Thanks

if insurance and theft is going to stop you with a itr, you probably should not try buying an EK either.

Well right now I have a Type S so I am used to some sort of high insurance. I used to have a ek also. But the legend of the R makes me want one so bad. I just dont want to be paying like 350 a month.

still high here in california....even though i have it cheaper then most. full coverage 250 a month....dropped my annual mileage down since it is a weekend car now and i only pay 200 a month
Yea I won't really be drivng the car all that much. No more than 10000 miles a year. If I get a R I would like to keep it perfect and then in a year or so sell the motor and do a k20a swap.

a motor with a theft recovery title is going to be very difficult to unload off to a buyer with half a brain. cops would probably impound someones car, then ask questions later.

I don't remember how it's broken down, but I pay $1400 a year for both my '03 Tacoma and my '98 ITR. I don't think that's too bad at all.
it all depends
1) where u live
2) ur stats (ie have u been in an accident, big tickets, also ur age marital status blah blah)
3) what kinda coverage u want in addition to 3rd party liability, ie comprehensive...
4) what ur deductible is
if u want to save on insurance keep ur current car and put ur father/mother has principal on ITR. TA DA ur covered on both cars and u pay a lower amount than u would for just ITR.(this will be tru for most young men...not all)
I own a 85 shagon wagon and an 2000 CWITR and my dad is primary on ITR and I am primary on wagon. As long as ur under the same roof u can drive ur ITR and be covered. This only works when u own 2 cars tho. k anyone who wants to add to this go nuts.

Wow, that's hard to read. There might be some good advice in there, but the bad spelling is too distracting to bother getting through. Sounds like someone's been spending way too much time in chat rooms with twelve year old kids, and forgot how to spell words out.
Because insurance costs vary based on so many personal factors, what someone else pays probably means nothing for YOUR specific situation. If you want to find out how much it would cost YOU to insure an ITR, call your insurance company, and/or check with a web-based service like Insweb.com or Insure.com.

I'm with the Grammar Police on this one.
Also, good advice from Ken.. A "15 minute call" to your insurance agent (or any other agent) would be 101% more accurate than a survey here.
