Default wingless question?

Possibly the best cosmetic mod to my car is a free one.

If anyone has had a gsr spoiler on and gone wingless, have you regretted it? And do you have pictures of plugs or shavings? I know that shavings, if not done right look like ****. and it really shows after time passes by.

i think it looks so much better without the wing... just get a good shave job(welding not epoxy) and you should be fine and it will not show over time. plus for those after the sleeper look... aint a bad thing to do if you wanna pass off your gsr for an LS.

I'll take a pic of my car with plugs. I don't regret going wingless though.

Well, since my car is white the plugs are very obvious, but I don't care My car is dirty, gutted, etc so the plugs don't bother me none.

I yanked my GSR wing because I think it looked a lot cleaner without it, plus the GSR wing had no function... BUT in my worthless opinion it completly ruins the clean look to have cheap *** plugs or tape stuck over the holes, its pretty ghetto to do it that way if you ask me.

yeah, i don't think shaving is worth the money. over 500 dollars
Might as well get a type R spoiler. But then again there goes your sleeper look. Is the GSR spoiler really non-functional? The type R spoiler supposedly is because honda says so. But do we always listen to what honda says?

As for that sleeper look...i think its getting played out. Whenever i see an integ without a spoiler on the road i think the he's a racer or has some stuff on his car. hehe. I think it looks pretty good with or without. I like it without better though.

No way man, I couldn't wait to take that stock spoiler off. It doesn't look like it belongs, it disrupts the flow of the lines. When I shaved mine, I had it welded closed. No Bondo! Do not use bonda, over time with opening and slamming the trunk, the bondo will crack. All generations of integras look so much better without a spoiler.

Got an ITR spoiler just put on my GSR, and I love how it completes the lines of the body and makes the car look a lot better. I had the body shop weld those holes left by the GSR wing and they repainted the whole rear deck. They did a good job, here is a pic, if I can figure this out....

About $300 to weld and repaint the whole deck. It is pretty expensive, but it beats the hell out of having big rubber plugs or vinyl tape on your rear deck, that looks REALLY GOOD!!!!

Oh, and about everyone flaming on people who have ITR spoilers on their non-ITR, what's the big deal, I am not claiming or trying to be an integra type R. Why do non-Si civics have the Si spoiler as a factory option. Are they just trying to be a civic Si, or do they just like how it looks on the car like me, regardless of what's under the hood.

And another thing, as far as the whole wingless thing being popular now, I think that if you are a racer and have stuff done to your engine and stuff, people are going to know regardless of whether you have a spoiler or not. Big stainless steel exausts and large intercoolers found on your "sleeper" teg with no spoiler are a definate give away to what you have done to your car.

I wish people would quit being so judgemental on some people's cars, as not everyone has to like what you like on your car.

Peace,
Jon

good point hondajon... i personally love ITRs and all aspects of it. The clean lines couldnt be anymore perfect. However, there is no accounting for taste... different people like different things. This is why people do some crazy **** to their cars, some get praise and some get laughed at. Without individuals... the import scene would not be so great. Some will be laughed into an oblivion, but others shine and open new doors to all of us looking to modify our cars. Without these people, we would roll around in stock cars and the world would be a boring place. I say do whatever the hell you want and don't let peoples comments get you down... put a ITR wing on your car if you like, who cares what people think??? Chances are if 1 other person likes it and 1 other person hates it, there are thousands more around the world that will side with either opinion! Dont try and impress everyone else, just do what you like and be happy!

he said he just taped it up. i personally would want to get mine welded cause i'm that kind of perfectionist type of guy. anyone know how much a welding/shave costs? I would have to repaint my whole trunk hood huh? $$$$$ too much!

Your looking at atleast $450 to weld everything shut and they have to repaint the whole rear deck. Not cheap, but it does look a lot better than big holes showing. Whether you go wingless or with an ITR spoiler on a GSR you will have some holes to fill in that trunk lid. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

i used to hate my stock wing but thought integras looked gay without a wing
used to have a type r wing and just shaved it completely
along with all the emblems it lookds like the red integ in the pic....clean as ****
no wing , no mouldings and stock bumpers.. definately the way to go...
but it looks way better on an integ that had the wing shaved than like an ls or rs
with that lame *** 3rd light on tyhe gate
to each his own tho
diff prople like diff ****..
