Here is the readings after my new cat.
idle
hc--267-->fail (max 100)
co--.29
co2--14.0
02--.8
nox--35
2,500rpm
hc--85
co--.85
co2--13.8
o2--.9
nox--159
What do yall think
new cat, new o2, running great, no carbon in the combustion chamber, plugs gapped at .39, timing at 16.

Naw, I never got it to pass emissions, the BAR passed the visual no problem, but my HC's have been high ever since I did the swap!!! Help!

damn...theres no way you can adjust that? like with an fpr or something...? i dont really know how to adjust it, so dont flame me, im just throwing out suggestions
Your almost in the same boat as me

Denatured alcohol seems to be a good thing, I'll let you know after I go on what I think of it.

Ok, so I have the evap green wire to the pin A20 on the p28 computer, where does the black wire go??
If i leave it how it is its right, correct? Because that wire dosent go to the ecu, so I should just leave it, and only attach the green wire to A20... Right?
Thanks yall

Doesn't the black just got to multi ground? I forget. But how close were you to passing? What's max at idle, 250? You're running the stock ecu program for smog, right? How many miles do you have on the car since you installed the cat? How many miles since you did the head? How old are the plugs? I assume you replaced them when you had the head off. How old is all the basic tune up stuff? Cap, rotor, plugs, ect?
I think you should run some fuel injector cleaner through, then try the water trick. Maybe there is a build up of HC's in the header and exhaust system? When was the last time you checked the compression?

Ya, I found the info, green wire goes to ecu, and blk is 12v power.
max at idle is 100, im 267!!!
YA, stock p72, cat has like 100 miles on it, head has like 350, didnt do the water trick because I cleaned the combustion chamber when the head was off, cap, rotor, plugs have like 4K on em, I ran injector cleaner like 4k ago, and have never done a compression test.
Thanks Noah, Ryan
ps, oil has like 400 miles on it.

your running the p72 for when you go to smog right? (just in case you forgot
) maybe your running too rich with the p28 and then it caused a build up of HC somewhere like someone was suggesting earlier?

Yes, p72... Ya Noah said I should try running water to clean the pipes, not just the combustion chamber. He also suggested to run the p72 for a while before the test.
This time I put the p72 in, ran down the freeway for about 20 min, then let it idle for 10 while the smog dude got his crap together.

My HC's are 1.5 times higher than allowed, do you think this alcohol is going to make me pass?
Is it safe for the engine?
Wes V gave me a good idea, im gunna call hondata, and talk with the guru's. Possibly I can burn a chip with way less % of fuel at idle. Also, Adam had the idea for a uberdata chips as well.

Original my hydrocarbons were 1.60 went today and they were .996
I replaced both o2 sensors and oil and plugs. I can say the alcohol did not hurt anything, it won't make anything worse. Also its ok for the car, just right afterwords fill you car up with gas.

Ryan;
Are you sure that you don't have a cap from a tube of antiseize in one of the cylinders. I've heard that can lead to excessive hydrocarbons.
(I just had to throw that out)
Wes

yea one thing after another.
change the cat nox goes down but hc goes higher.
I had similar problem changed from OEM cat to Catco numbers went higher
catco is useless
try the denatured alcohol or honda data chipped for smog.
also the evap only works when engine is not on wont effect emissions
