Default Heater not getting hot anymore....What do I need to repair???

I have a 94 Accord EX. My problem is that my heater no longer gets hot anymore. It doesnt get any warmer than about room temperature which isnt that warm when the car has been sitting outside overnight when its 20 degrees or so. One of my friends mentioned that I may need a new heater core. If I do need one how much does it cost to replace?

Maybe you only need to bleed the air out of the system.

Maybe your thermostat is stuck open. Does the engine temperature gauge go up normally?

Maybe there's a disconnected cable from the temperature control to the actual heater valve.

Question... does the engine temperature gauge go up to normal? If not you might just need a thermostat!!

Same thing happened to me, i think its called the air mix control cable you have to look at. It controls whether the air goes through the heater core, or bypasses it, sometimes it can get stuck, you have to go inside the engine bay closer to the firewall, near glove box area, and tug on the wire, then turn on the heat and see if it gets warm, that my best suggestion. goodluck

Yes my temperature gauge goes up normally. Right below the half way point between hot and cold. I havent checked for any disconnected cables yet. That could be a possibility. Also my **** that controls the temperature in my car doesnt go all the way to hot. I turn it all the way and it moves back up a little bit. Any suggestions? New **** maybe.....

There is a cable thats attached to the ****. As you turn the **** the cable moves. That cable may be caught on something causing it to not go as far as it maybe should.
