Default What is wrong?!?!?!?!

I finished installing my turbo, got all of the leaks fixed from the coolant lines, oil lines and charge pipes. Drove it down the street, went slow the first block, got around a corner punched it made it half a block and engine started extremly bogging down. Pulled to side of road went to accelerate into parking lot and when I pressed on the gas there was no effect at all. The engine was sputtering from about 200 - 400 rpms. Also there was smoke or vapor coming from behind the exhaust manifold.

First I tried the easy fix of making sure the timing didn't get knocked off. Timing is fine.

So I went to the answer that made more sense the head gasket, answers the throttle question (no compression) and also the smoke/vapor coming from the headgasket area.

So tonight I pulled the head and took off the headgasket. Under inspection I can't see anything wrong with it. Their are a couple of areas that look slightly rusty however the car has been sitting for about 2 month untill I had time to work on it.

How visible would problem areas be on a headgasket. Is it possible for it too look fine?

Valves and pistons looked fine after quick look. No water or coolant in the oil pan. Any ideas, what could be wrong? I am putting a new gasket on in 2 days, but now am worried that it might not be the fix.

Whats your fuel management?

Take a picture of the head gasket and we could tell you if its bad.

Mainly look around for cracks and what not, anything that doesnt look right for the gasket. HTH

Yeah, a picture or two would help.

I couldn't find any cracks or anything. Looked on all the three layers.

I am using v-afc, plx m500 wb, rc 440's, walbro fuel pump.

(I would take pic except it is at my brothers garage)

When you put the new HG on, do a compression check. That will tell you if its a problem with the bottom end. How many miles are on your car?

My car has 140,000 but the engine only has about 60,000.

Your just going to have to put it back together with a new headgasket, and hopefully that fixes it. If not, we'll have to go from there, starting with a compression check.

First thing i would do is check the oil feed line. It could be kinked or clogged or something causing your turbo to not get lubed the way it needs to be. Also my friends car had a kinked oil feed line and was smoking too. So that might be it check the oil feed and return for any kinks. Hopefully that will help ya

I used a stealthmode oil line kit, which uses a T at the oil pressure sensor. All steelbraided lines from their, couldn't imagine them getting kinked. I will check though.

Possibly clogged...

I am also wondering if I could have broke a ringland. Will a compression test tell me if I have?

Thanks for the help.

A compression test will tell you if theres anything wrong with the motor. If you throw low numbers then its a start to know somethings wrong.

Edit: Stupid people that cant spell corrected me.
