ITR Rally Suspension help!
Hey eveyone, i need a little advice, here's my story.
The car being built is a Gravel/Snow prepared Honda CRX 1988 HF
it has ITR style rear LCA's (stock) and i have a set of ITR front shock forks so i need advice on what ITR dampers, and springs to get? they need to be able to withstand about 2 feet of air. I know i'm gonna have to replace balljoints after every race but help advise me on the suspension! I cannot bottom out the shocks under EXTREAM situations. I will rebuild the shocks at least every year or as required
now, i know hotbits makes a supension for the 88 CRX The best part is they are adjustable for both bound rebound and have a helper spring! BUT i know that the ITR shock diameter is larger and longer (travel) therefor woudl run cooler @ the same piston velocities.only probelm is Hotbits doesn't make a kit for it. also i want to be able to go up to an 1" up in ride height. SO i ask you HT, stay with the crx get the hotbits? or suggest me a good suspension to use.
Oh yeah hopefulyl in the 1500$ price range, cuz that's what the hotbits guy quoted me...

I have Bilsteins for an ITR in my 1989 EF9 rally car, so far I'm very pleased with them. They aren't adjustable but as I'm only just starting out that doesn't worry me yet. I need to learn to drive the thing before I can play around with base settings and the Bilsteins seem like a good base to start from!!
I'm running 300lbs front and 200lbs rear springs with ground control type threaded coil over sleeves to get some height into it. Once again I haven't played around with them but this is what I was recommended to start out with and it works quite well.
Also, FWIW, I'm running the stock EF9 sway bars front and rear.
Hope that's some what useful!!
