Problem starting 94' Accord Please help!
I just ran a search in all the recent, and archived topics, but couldn't find anything to answer my particular problem.
I have a 94 accord ex 2.2L v-tech. This is the first official winter I'm driving this car, had problems with the car turning over right away early spring, so I decided to drive my other car. Tonight was the third time so far this winter that I've had trouble starting her up.
My car has ran like a gem over the warm months, but now thats it's getting colder I've been having a hard time starting it up. Everytime it drop's to freezing temp's I have to turn the key over and let it stay there for approx. 3-5 seconds. Once she kicks over she seems to spuder for a split second as tho it's having trouble going, but then it runs fine. Idles high, but that's expected. I've replaced the plugs and wires, bout to replace cap n rotor. Had the battery looked at, and was told it was pretty much fully charged. Battery could be bad, because when I had it tested it was just after driving it for 4 hrs. The starter is fine, all the connections I've checked are fine, the fuel filter has been replaced.
Anybody have any clues??

Definitely go ahead and change the cap and rotor since you did the plugs and wires. Maybe you have issues with the IAC(although it seems like you would get a CEL if you did). Does it idle rough all the time? Try cleaning the IAC sensor it may be clogged with carbon buildup. Probably wouldn't hurt to run some fuel injector cleaner a couple times(if you haven't lately) too. Alot of people on this site swear by Seafoam. I used it in my 96 and it works good at cleaning up some of the carbon buildup in your intake.
First off no Honda takes as long as this Honda takes to start up in the winter. I'm not trying to be rude, but that is just a fact. Because every Honda I have found so far has always started right up no matter the temperature, if it be 80 degrees or negative 80 degrees. I'll will try the fuel injection cleaner, but I'm not sure about the intake, because I have a CAI. However I think I am going to test my battery again, but I don't believe that is the problem becuase she has enough cold cranking amps.
3 times seems like a charm! The first and second time I try to turn it over it doesn't start up, but in the third try I leave the key turned a little longer at it starts right up. But there's one catch, she acts as though she is going to die out, but a few seconds later she is running fine. Any body have a clue as to what is wrong?
Keep in mind she started up fine throughout the whole summer, and the engine has been running sound all year long, until it started to get cold.
I'm not exactly sure I understand what its doing. When you turn the key first couple times, does the starter sound weak or does it run good? If the battery was weak, you should be able to tell by the sound of the starter motor, if it would even turn at all. Or is the engine just not starting with the starter motor going? Once you've gotten the car started and it gets past the "rough" stage, can you drive it down the street, cut it off and do something else, then come back out maybe 15-30 min.s later and start it up without any problems? Sorry 'bout all the questions but it helps to close in on the problem without being there. All this being said, it still sounds to me like maybe the IAC sensor is acting up, maybe clogged with carbon(doesn't matter that you have a CAI)

I think i may have figured out what the problem is.....
The fuel injector may be dirty. When I go to start the car, I leave the key in turned in the on position for about 20-30 seconds, then i go to start the car is it starts right up. Every thing else is fine, I'm thinking it is the fuel injector.
Thanks for all of your help, I think I may have figured it out!
