Ok, I got an engine from the bone yard today and it's a 1992 D16z6. I know enough to find those markings, but I don't really reconize this engine. All 92-95 d16z6 engines have looked different than this one. My research tells me that it's a ZC block/engine (eBay pictures). Dose anyone know if it's an 0bd1 or a obd0. My if it's an obd1 I can look for a P28 ecu if not I can convert my harness to fit a OBD0. This is what the Engine looks like. Thanks for your help.

So far I've found out that it is an OBD1 ZC engine. What ECU should I use with this JDM engine? P28 should work but would the P30 be better? Thanks.

Are you sure of this? That looks very similar to my z6. Why dont you look at the code stamped on the block, and see if it says d16z6. Either way, a p28 should be fine.

 

Positive...D16Z6, 1992.

 

all 92-95 honda's are OBD1. what were you expecting? that its supposed to say VTEC on the VC? not all D16Z6 engines came with those.

No, just wasn't sure what it was...ZC or other.

 

The engine is what the block stamp says it is... unless it was modified in someway.
Most jdm sohc vtecs will either say zc or d16a in my experience and all 92-95 engines are obd1
