Default Need opinion about trade

OK a buddy of mine has a '97 Civic DX Hatch w/ 100k miles on the body and a d16Y8 swap w/30k miles, DC headers, CAI which supposedly put out 160-70hp and it has sunroof, brand new tires and he wants to trade me fer my BONE STOCK '95 Civic CX Hatch w/ SOHC 1.5 thats got about 70hp to use it to drop a bigger engine in + he wants $2000. soo is this a good deal?? a few ppl said i should talk him down to like $1500? but he's a buddy of mine and he's in debt sooo i dont wanna completely ripp him off either. or Thanx in advance.

theres no b16y8, theres no engine that puts out 140 stock, the d16y8 puts out 127 and the b16a2 puts out 160

double check what he really has first if you do decide to trade..but like egcoupe said, with that 2,000 that he wants you to add, you could already get a swap and make your car just about as fast as his or even faster depending what he has.

Well if he bought the parts off ebay they make more hp. I seen a intake that adds 20 hp and a resistor that adds like 10 hp and so on so he could have a 300 whp car just from ebay parts. I wish I knew why they put that magic power in the parts only on ebay??

Ok...My opinion

Keep your car, save your $2000. Wait a year, and put a down payment on nice car.

It doesnt take a month to do a engine swap so you have more than enough time. Save your money and buy a house or wait till you have a good job and buy a nsx or s2000.
