Default Calling all S2000 Retro-Fiters

Hey guys,

I'm planing on fitting the S2000 Projectors in my 99-00 Si headlights. Everything has been disassembled and now the next step is to put the projector inside the actual headlight housing.

I'm wondering what most of you S2000 projector guys do. I'm not sure if I should cut the black plastic (around the projector), see the pic below. I don't want the black part to look ugly or out of place. Hopefully someone will give me insight.

Thanks in advance.

those guys are genius's when it comes to lighting. S2k retrofits are very common over on the forum.

I've never worked with those projectors, but I believe the projecter comes out from the entire black assembly part.. Look and see if the black part is simply a casing around the actual projector.

If that's not the case then you will have to cut it, but I'm pretty sure the projecter comes unattached from it.

all u gotta do is cut that high beam bracket off and smooth it out, then paint the front part black again..if it were me, i would actually shroud them anyways, so you wouldnt see anything but the lens.. but a guy on this board named "Chameleon" did an s2k retro on his EK and just cut the brackets off and painted the front part of the projector gunmetal.. looked nice.. since i bought those projectors from him, i will show you.

yeah im collecting them..

Ahhh.. So you do cut them.. Good info, I was waiting for you to reply. I actually looked for a post you made with the picture of your projectors so I could get a better look..

here is what we did on the old s2k retro on my s14.. we just cut off what needed to go..

and of course the best beam pattern on the market from a projector unit alone.

the lexus LS430 does outshine the s2000, but it uses a reflector as well as a projector so its not going to be easy to retro that big unit.. and the other night i was next to a new maserati and that had tons of light on the ground from its projectors, i dont know what they use, but it was very very nice..

I did like you did and turns out good... just that I bought a headlight that had small space to do the retrofit but I manage myself to go around it.

because im gangsta.. and i love the s2000 beam more than any other beam.. so i buy every set i come across.. never know when i might have to do a retro.. plus i know i will never buy an s2000 so every car i get in the future will have to have the projectors.. just making sure i never have to search.

I just finished redoing my bi-xenons projectors in my EH denji's, pretty tight fit but I like the output.

yeah but i wouldnt wanna spend the moneyfor perfectly clean s2k headlights just to hack them up for the projectors.. id rather buy broken units or projectors alone for like $200 - $250.. both headlights goes for like $800 w/ HID dont they?

Just a thought could you use a projector from a fog light set up and mount them in your headlight?

I think with fog lights the spread is wide, but not far so that wouldn't be a good idea.
