B16 CEL! 1st gen code 14??? engine in 91 crx si
well i searched for a bit and got codes but i think it just might be for b18? im not really that sure cause teh xsi had a b16 and all this was in the integra forum..my car has had some weird idle prob. Revs up on its own sometimes for a sec then be driving and it bumps like it shut off. 2 times now ive been sitting in one spot and the car just shut off. well today teh light finally came on i thought maybe O2 but int he integra forum (doesnt list what motor) i looked at code 14 and it said...14 IAC (EACV) - idle air control valve...is that right still for my first gen jdm motor? if so then isnt that the idle air adjustment screw on the throttle body?

Yes. Theres a problem with your iacv. Remove it and clean it with carb cleaner. If It still doesn't work get a meter and check the circuit.

Yes you adjust your idle with that screw when the car is warmed up and the iacv plug is disconnected.

i disconect the plug? or when the car is warmed up it disconects a circuit itself? ok so the idle screw is right u said clean the iacv thing? thats under the throttle body right? like a circular looking thing?
Look at the backside of the intake-it's that rounded looking thing(as it was called).Take it off-it has coolant hoses going to it,so be ready.Try to spray the carbon build up out of it --it may or might not work.Bolt it back on and fill the coolant system back up-make sure you bleed it-air pockets can cuase the same problems.

Disconnect the plug when you're setting idle speed. Do this when the car is warmed up. You'll throw code 14 again. When you're done reset the ecu. The iacv is on the back of the intake manifold. Two coolant hoses and two bolts. Just unbolt it and clean it. The thing below your throttle body is the FITV.
how to fix fitv

i might just check the cooling system first cause i might have an air pocket in the first place and thats it. wait that wouldnt throw a code 14 tho would it? ohwell i'll let it run with the cap off first...if nothing them i'll pull it off carb clean that bitch put it back on and refil the radiator and let it run for like 10 min to get all the air bubble back out. sounds good to me..should i just leave the cap off or use the bleeder by the head? usually i leabe tyhe cap off
