civic tranny question???
Ok, so on thursday i will be buying an 89 civic hatch. The car is in good condition and everything works well...It is gunna be my next project when i finish my teg. Anyways, the thing has an automatic transmission, which isnt bad for now because it will be daily driver until next spring...i just wanna know how hard it will be, when i swap my new engine in, to convert the pedals and everything to a manual, and also what needs to be done to do it...any information will be appreciated, thnx
I have heard that the hardest thing with the pedals is to actually make space under the steering wheel to mount them. Otherwise the other stuff is not easy, but doable. There's a nice writeup here, give it a search.

thats about it, if i left anything out, please add to it.
its a pretty stright foward swap, swaping out the pedals is a bitch but the rest is pretty easy
and no,you dont have to make space for the pedals to fit

thanx alot, i picked up my car today...the body is in alright condition, a few dents, and the hood doesnt latch that well, but there is no rust...the thing has about 200k miles, but will be swapped with a B16 next years sometime. im gunna buy the siR conversion, so all the dent in the front now dont even matter...i bought if for $800, and it was totally worth it.
heres what I was able to find
