Fixing up GF's Car, what's this thingy?
I'm working on an Automatic 91 Civic DX D15B2 w/ Dual Point all stock.
It's idling high and "hunting" a.k.a. idling funny. I checked for vacuum leaks but it's not.
I unplugged this "thingy"

right there on the left side of the intake mani

...and it idles like a dream at 750RPMs. Is it the O2 or something, or just a control. I get a check engine light when i take it out, so obviously it's something important.
I can't find my shop manual, so help me out here!
You guys should be able to answer this in 5 min, thanks a lot!

Same thing as the iacv on the back of mpfi intake manifolds.

yea, I just found my shop manual and that's what it is
well how do I fix this problem?
I assume I don't have to replace it. It's idling high, then hunting.
I pulled it off, and it's not the same deal as when I fixed the high idle on my brother's B16. You can't just screw it back down. There's an allen key style bolt on the end (although it's 5 sided) is that what I need to tighten down?

there's a bolt on the end of the EACV... what does it do.
And for that matter, what tool is that? It's not Allen and not Torx. It's five sided smooth. WTF
I'm con-freggin-fused.

it's not throwing a code when plugged in so is it still functioning properly?
Idles at 1800PM in park with it plugged in, idles at 750-800RPM when out, but gives CEL. This is really bothering me seems like such a stupid thing.

there has to be something wrong with that iacv
change it and go to a junkyard
if there is a still a problem try seafoam maybe your intake manifold has a lot of dirt.
