Also, the intake manifold seems to be the one that's not hooked up - that goes to your IM, the one that's plugged in should go to your cruise control mech (IIRC).
Uhh, I'm not sure if which goes where makes a difference, that's why I was just bringing it up.

I never questioned how it works, so I couldn't tell you, but what I would do:
We'll label 'em as plug A (pointing to the left), and plug B (pointing towards ur headlight).
I'd switch the hose, if that's the vacuum line that goes to your IM to plug A, then put a cap on plug B.
Though that's just what I would do, not sure if that's the "right" way - judging by looking at it, I'd say it doesn't make a difference which is where...but that's the way Honda hooked it up, and since I don't know much about it, that's the way I'd hook it up...

You'll throw a CEL, I'm pretty sure, if it's disconnected.
I had that problem in my Jetta - took me forever until I realized that the charcoal canister (which is located by the fuel tank, in a Jetta) was crumpled from a light hit previous accident (previous owner). You have any idea how many sensors I replaced b4 I found that??
Though yeah, I'm pretty sure if u d/c it you'll throw a CEL, w/ or w/o emissions.
