What are the compression numbers for a B18C motor with like 11.8-12.0 compression?
I was thinking of doing a copmpression test to see where I really stand with my compression. I have 11.8 and was wondering what the compression gauge would indicate for a car with 11.8 or 12.0 compression?
Anyone?
Anyone?
I ran a compression test last night (with my new Xmas present:D ) and now I need to check & see if I'm within spec...
Hopefully, you are above these...buy a testor = it's cake to do & good info for future engine testing.

236228232235{with Cam Gears adj}
221218220225{w Cam Gears at stock setting}
I know the variance is VERY good, but don't remember what the overall spec is.

Budman:
So those numbers are from a stock R bottom end? I read on the Clubsi post of this guy with a LS/VTEC with CTR pistons with like readings upwards of 275 each cylinder. And C-speed has readings of like 260 I guess for a car with 11.6 compression.

CTR pistons, or anything 12:1 or higher should be real close to 300.
I'd estimate around 280. My motor pegged 300 on 3 and the 4th broke the
tester.
Budman's numbers are on par with a stock motor in good condition.
keep in mind there are a lot of other factors that go into a compression test
other than compression ratio.

sorry I didn't clarify - stock cams, rods, etc....no internals only Mods listed in pic. I posted mine 'cause I was going to post a thread like yours...
Maybe we'll both get good info!! Good Luck.

Steve, thanks for the input, you seem to have all the answers to my questions.
Budman: I'll keep ya posted. I need to run to pep boys to buy me a compression tester!
