Default Type-r pricing?

Hi guys, I just sold my WRX STi yesterday. I am looking for a Type-R.

I have found 3: 98 with 43k miles, mostly stock, never crashed, asking 20k
98 with 40k miles, miner mods, nver crashed, asking 20k
98 with 20k on motor and 66k on chassis, lots of mods, asking 17k

What do you R owner's think. Are the guys asking for 20k asking to much? Which one would you guys choose?

IMO they're asking a bit too much.

Depends on what you're looking for-- the best bargains are the Turbo R's and highly modded ones. If you can find one that has approximately the stuff you're looking for, they're essentially "free" since the owner won't get more money for the mods.

Off topic-- Hmm! Any reason you're switching back to Honda power?

Maybe it's this....

Or this...

The three prices you listed sound very high. I got my 98 with 36K for 15,500.

First I think the prices are within reason... After all where are you going to get another new one from???

It all depends on what you want and can spend on a Hype R...
If your looking for ultra clean, it will cost you. If your looking for a slightly used you could get away cheap but sometimes not worth it.

Good luck on your quest to own a Hype R.

Though I haven't posted her here, I'm selling my 2000 FBP ITR for $21,000 firm. She has just 11,300 original miles, is bone stock, and is flawless inside and out. IM me if you're interested.

Yep. The racecar may be sold soon as well. Time to move on I'm afraid.

the prices seem a lil high for those 98's. I would think if they are in perfect condition, 2k less than asking would be right

LOL, I hear that at home all the time

It just makes too much sense at this time. With all these thefts/etc, I'm ready to get out of the game for awhile. Not a z06, but something that's pretty fun and not a theft-magnet

IMO the first two are worth $16-17K, and the third, somewhat less unless you're looking for EXACTLY the combination of mods that that particular car has.

I would suggest, first, decide what you're looking for - year, condition, miles, mods, etc - and figure out about how much you should expect to pay. Once you know that, then look around and act accordingly.

For example, if you really want a mostly-stock white ITR and you're willing to pay a little more for a lower-mileage one than you would for a higher-mileage one - in other words, if one of the first two is what you're looking for - and you think they're worth $16-17K, then make an offer for them that you would be willing to buy them for (and you might leave yourself a little room to raise your offer slightly). If the owner turns you down after you make the highest offer you're willing to pay, keep looking.

Don't buy those. Buy mine. PM me for details, 100% stock w/ under 38k miles.

Try to work down the prices for the "clean" ones. You might wanna search H-T, there are plenty for sale (even tho they will prob never sell their ITR's).

Those 98 ITR's aint priced high if they are so called "clean". People are willing to pay that price.

Guys I have a couple of questions,
The tranny on the ITR always says "LSD" right?
Will the head say "P73" or the "b16 head code"?

if you can land one of the first 2 for around 18 500 - 19000 that would be a good buy, its to hard to come by a clean championship white ITR with low miles and a good history.
