I have a y1 cable tranny it has no grinds or leaks. How much do you think its worth. I bought it and really would like an LSD one instead, What do you think is a LSD tranny worth the hassle of pulling it out and spending more money for a LSD tranny?

A LSD tranny would be worth the hassle, especially if your planning on boosting. It will give you better 1/4 times since you will have better traction.

The Y1 tranny is not as durable as the newer big spline YS1. Also, the YS1 has all parts available over the counter in North America, y1, forget it.

The gearing in the GSR YS1 is also more favorable, as it shares most of the same gear ratio's as the late model type R gearboxes.
Value varies from about $500-800 depending on where you look. Thats not bad when you consider how much a separate lsd plus install.

They are becoming a diamond in the rough. My roommate has contacted 3 places and has been waiting for over 3 months. Once someone gets one in I'm sure it won' t be cheap.

I got a YS1 with my b16swap from HMO and it cost me 300$ EXTRA. It was worth it though.

Yes, they are very rare both in Japan and North America.

In the US and Canada the 92-93 GSR's only have the vtec geared YS1. During those years only 1 out of 15 Integra's sold was a GSR. North America never got the option of lsd though.

In Japan,it was 92-93 models also, can't recall exact model that carried the YS1, but the were rare and found mated to a 2nd gen B16. It was offered only as an option with LSD, so only a few of those rare trannies actually had the set up which at that time Honda was using Quaffie for the contract.

I get them in from time to time. I would say i get one YS1 equipped swap out of each 300 engine packages that come in from Japan.

Good luck with your project.
