Default 15 inch VS 16 inch

Arlight guys I need help with rim choice. I am curently running my 17 inch VOLK TE37 on my CRX and I am tired of the TONKA TRUCK look. I am going to get the RED GT3 but can not decide between 15 and 16 inch rims.

Is there a benifit for going 15 vs 16? I have Skunk2 Coilvers, Totiko Lumina Shocks, and a camber kit installed so RUBBING IS A HUGH ISSUE(another reason for putting the VOLKS back in the garage).

My thought was to go 15 inch but while researching on here I seen that many people say to use a 195/55/15 on a 15 inch wheel. I just think that tire is to narrow. Help me end this headache.

15" larger selection of tire manufacturers to chose from

16" can run larger brakes

15's you can get 11 inch brakes under there and that plenty of stopping power.

195 55 R15 is DEFINATELY not narrow. Come on, it's not a 500HP viper... 195 is more than sufficient for our civics IMO.

16" does look nice. But like the guy above said, you can fit bigger rotors with 15" wheels as well.

If you really think 195 is too narrow for a tire, there are 205 sizes that fit 15" wheels, it just depends how wide your rim is.

Try 205's if 195's are too narrow. I run 205/50/15 with DA brakes on all corners.
IMO 15's are perfect for my little ED6.

well actually I am going to be trying to put down in 400's with Full-Race stage 3 kit. Hopefully in the high 400's...granted who knows how much I am going to really produce when it gets installed.

Anyway, I think I am going to get the 205/50/15, for some reason 195 just scares me.

Bah, if you have some good tires and lsd, you can run 13's all day....provided you have the power to do so.

if I get their stage 3 kit and the best I run 13's I will burn the ******. and that is a promise and a threat to my crx.

what are some good 15 inch tires? I was going to get Falken 451 but they do not make 15's. And I will not buy YOKO, unless they are ADVAN's. I have totalled 2 cars on those damn things.

I have had good luck with Falken and do not know which tires to get since they dont make 451. Are the Azenis good? Has anyone used them. I am down for opinons so I can research. Thanks for the input!

While trying to find tires I have found that there are many other choices in 16 not 15.

What is it you'll burn?

I use Toyo T1S tires, awesome for the street/strip. 195/50/15

People seem to like the Azenis. I haven't owned a set myself, but my brother's got a set on his miata and they feel fantastic. I'd say 195-50-15 whatever would be fine for the street, and get a separate set of 13's with slicks for the strip. It seems to me that the power you plan on putting down would make a set of slicks worthwhile. Besides, you shouldn't be worried about being able to put that kind of power down on the street

205/50/15 is only off stock by 1.5% and has a pretty good (maybe better) selection.

yeah 205/50/15 is actually proabbly going to be more widely available. i myself run 195s with no problem, how ever i am not runniogn that much power at all. azenis are good for street, and decent for strip, considering what they are, but i'd say also go with some 13's and slicks if you really want to get decent traction.

I hate the sidewall roll on my toyo proxes T1-S. Even at high Psi.
I like 16" better provided it doesn't give me a weight disadvantage.

Azenis are kinda shitty for drag racing, as the sidewall is too stiff. They are great for the "real" track.

well damn. it looks like I am going to go with the yoko es100. I pray I have better luck on these tires than my last 2 cars. I know that I am not going to get much power down while I am using my GT3, so slicks are second on my have to get list. First is Gearspeed tranny rebuild with LSD. Thanks for everyones input and help trying to end this headache.
