Default B20/VTEC build pics

edit: I got pwn3d by photobucket, so everything is now on we-todd-did.

Saturday I went to Intercrew in Dallas, to pick up my pistons and block (just bored to 84.5, hot tanked, decked, polish & balance crank). Turns out some dude jacked a box of my ****, containing 2 of my pistons, my rods, my rings, and every bolt and bracket that was on the block that they took off before they did all the work at the machine shop .

Phillip (owner of Intercrew) hooked me up though, and I've got another set of Eagle H-beam rods and a set of IB-spec 13:1 compression pistons being overnighted to me.

Saturday night/Sunday morning I put everything together, sans pistons/rods, and dropped it in the hatch. When I get the pistons the beginning of this week, I'm gonna put those in, slap on the head, and (hopefully) be done with it. w00t!

Well I'll be the first to comment. I had no clue that an engine head could be so light, or is that container full of stuff that it's sitting on. Atleast the people are reimbursing (sp.) you for the items that were stolen. Best of luck. ps. I'm not a motor head so I really don't know alot about the parts listed that were stolen.

Clean engine bay. Using the Hasport adapter for the AC?

Hope it runs well, that 13:1 comp will be a killer NA setup.

Good thing you aren't here in Cali, our crappy "91" octane would kill your motor. Good luck with your build up.

Ronin - it's an empty 18 gallon plastic tub. Lol. About 20 minutes after I took those pics, I was sitting on the block (on the container), drinking a beer, and the damn thing caved in. Worked great while it lasted! lol....

On the A/C, I've just got the bracket and compressor from a 92 Integra, stock condenser from my civic, and I custom-made the a/c lines myself to fit it. Works great, especially with the ungodly summer temperatures here in Texas. Chicks dig a/c too, in the B16 4-door I had last year (R.I.P. FoDo) and when I had a B16 in the hatch in August, it was hotter than ****, and chicks HATED riding with me. I love my a/c.

The paint is 1993 RX-7 silver. I painted it myself, took every single part off the car before I sprayed the first 4 coats, put everything back on, sprayed 4 more coats, then did 10 coats of clear. I haven't buffed it yet, because I'm sure I'll end up with a few scuffs before I'm finished with the build. I've got pics of the painting process on my cardomain page: http://www.cardomain.com/id/civicious

The tranny is a '99 CTR. LSD owns j00.

Thanks for the comments, I should have it running as soon as I get my pistons on Wednesday (or earlier). From there, I'm gonna break it in, take it back to Intercrew to get Hondata put on and get it tuned. Until I get it tuned, I'm just running stock injectors with a Walboro 255 pump, and when I get it tuned I'll slap on the ol' DSM 450's.

w00t!

envious of your a/c

i highly recomend updating to the sir2 cam carriers though since they oil better than the a1's that are in that head now.

are you going to reloom everything underhood to fix that overspray/lack of taping?

note the 2 raised bars on each of the carriers-first gen b16. all of the a2's, a3's, c1's, c5's an jdm c's and a's that i have worked on have had that piece be a nice smooth machined piece. the only engine i have ever seen that style in was a1's.

i went back and looked at the pics and i can say-my bad, the water neck stick straight out sideways-mosdef gsr.
