Default 1/2 inch wider and 3.5lbs heavier?

EDIT: Title should say 1/2 inch wider and 3.5lbs heavier, sorry.

So I have a set of Rota Slipstreams in 15X6.5 and weigh approx 12lbs. I can buy these: http://www.esses.us/smw/smw.htm that are 15X7 but weigh 15.4 lbs. I'm going to try to run 225's on the 15X7's if I get them, but am worried about rubbing w/ the +38 offset.

I've already realized I'll buy at least one set, get them here and see how they fit. If they work out I'll sell the rotas and buy another set.

I guess the real question is is it worth the extra weight for a 1/2 inch wider? Wheels would be used for both autocross and lapping days. Any experience w/ this particular wheel? I had the orange ones on my old civic and were light as hell, but a little soft.

Thanks for sharing

Yes, but PM Maxx44 about a set of 4 Team Dynamics wheels before you buy those. TD's are 13 lbs each and he has a couple used sets a week or so ago.

The half inch is worth it especially with 225's, but you can do better than those wheels.

You know there was a fellow here in the RR/AX forum selling a custom run of 15x7 slipstreams with a hub-centric bore for hondas. They were something like 13.5 lbs and cost hardly more than the regular slipstreams... I just cant remember the name.

i think the 1/2" is definitely worth it, for 3 lbs, but like teamslow said, there are affordable 15x7's that weigh around 13 lbs. Team dynamics pro race 1 and 2 come to mind, immediately. Doesn't rota also make a 15x7 slip now?

the alt finalspeeds are also light, and pretty cheap too, and then there are the kosei's, so i think you've got alot of options.

I didn't think they made them in 7 inches in a 5X114.3.

DrFlickner (or similar username) in the Sponsor forum for wheels was trying to get a group buy going on those from what I remember. Might want to IM him and see if it went through.

Doesn't look like this will help you if you are in a rush though.

Ya, 4X100 only. Tough to find sizes in 5X114.3

$.02

1/2 is well worth it, esp if you are going to run 225/45-15's.

Any thought of K1's?

ORRRRRRRRRR! go to your neighbor's house, beat him up and steal the Sterns.
