Default 2.5 inch outlet header options...

right now i have a jdm dc sports 4-1 header with the 2.5 outlet. the problem is the car is lowered and im in pennsylvania. i had an "incident" with a pothole the other nite and now the header is very very smashed. i was thinkin of goin 4-2-1 with the same outlet size to save on some ground clearance but everything seems to be waaay up in the price range compared to the dc sports. i was lookin at the apexi jmd gt but after some searchin, i find that people are not very happy with the results of the header. some say it chokes up top. is there any 4-2-1 header with a 2.5 inch outlet that isnt above $450? everything i find is near $800.

You gotta pay to play man.

Can't cheap out, a good header can make or break your motor. Power wise.

ok i did some more reading, the j spec type r header is supposed to have more ground clearance than the dc sports 4-1. then i came across jdmshits version of it. anyone have anyexperience with it. it says its an exact copy of the jdm stock type r header. think its got the same ground clearance benefits?

Dynamic Autosports in Irvine has on made for them by DC, which looks almost just like the DC one and is stainless w/ 2.5in collector, and is cheaper than DC..

the JDMShit one looks pretty decent too from those pics..

why is the vibrant bad ?? It has the same diameters as the toda and the collector is even bigger

45mm-50mm-60mm for the toda

45mm-50.8mm(2 inch)-63.5mm(2.5 inch) for the vibrant and it has longer primaries than the toda !!

The Vibrant Header is an exact copy of the JUN Header. My uddy has one and another buddy bought a JUN at the same time and I couldn't tell them apart for the most part.

Just buy a dc sport jdm itr replica 4-1 header unless you want to spend crazy money on a toda header etc.

I have the dynamic autoport jdm "mugen" copy, is what they call it, its prolly not what you want if you want ground clearance.... Great header for the price though!

Yea i fear potholes Of course this is on a b16, a gsr might have alot better ground clearance

you're an idiot. Vibrant is better than dc in terms of quality, hands down. its funny....this guy is complaining about the poor ground clearnce of his 4-1 header, and everybody keeps recommending............... 4-1 headers. for the price, the Vibrant is probably your best option. it has wicked ground clearance, 2.5" collector and it makes decent power.

Megan Racing has come out with their version too with the 2.5" collector. They are priced around $250-300 in full stainless.

they said that header is 220 shipped, is under engine stuff from the mian page. here is a response i got when i asked about it compared to the jdm oem itr header

The headers are strong mild steel headers, but are an 18 AWG metal where as
the OEM JDM ITR headers are a 14 AWG metal (thicker & much heavier).
Performance-wise, they are no different but if you are going to smash the
bottom of the headers on a curb or something, the JSR headers will bend
easier.

I just ordered the Vibrant JSPEC 4-2-1 copy. Its an exact replica of the JUN/T1R piece right down the the piping sizes and lengths. Ground clearance is supposed to be like stock, so that's a huge plus (especially on my DA9)

Ill get some really detailed pics when it arrives, but it may be a while.

The people who are considering getting the jdm 4-1 header that was a copy for like $220. Have you guys even read the reviews of that header. No one is really happy with it, if you are lucky you can find some people selling them for a lot less then $220.
Have much is the vibrant header you are referring to? V

The JUN/T1R Vibrant header is around $475 shipped, lower in some places. Quality is unbelievably good, but then again its considerably more expensive than the ITR replicas you are referring to.

The original batch of ITR replicas had welds that weren't all the way complete....not good . They also had a ton of flash still on the collectors. The new ones are supposed to have fixed those problems....but are a bit more expensive. Im sure we'll be seeing someone post up pics of the new batches too to let everyone know how it is.

Its worth knowing that member "builthatch" dyno'd the original replica ITR and it gained a good amount over the stock piece (I want to say 8whp, not sure).

Im not defending the quality of those headers (it was pretty bad), just spouting information.
