Default Should I be running this ECU with this setup..?

I have a P28 ECU currently, I am dropping a JDM B18b into my car (92 Civic DX) with a turbo as well. I was planning to get the p28 chipped for uberdata and burned with a generic boost mapping until I get it tuned by Andy (BodyKitsNW). The main concerns I have is that the P28 is for a singlecam VTEC motor, is this still ok to use for a boosted LS? Thanks in advance. Was just curious if it would be better to get a P74/75 and chip that instead..?

I'd go for the P75. You will get CEL's because of not having the VTEC solenoid and pressure sensor hooked up. Usually a P28 fetches more money then any of the non-VTEC ecus, so you could get the correct ecu and still maybe have some change left over.

if you're running uberdata anyway, you can run a chipped p05/p06 ecu with a boost program

Just chip it. It can run anything depending on the chip thats in it. SOHC or DOHC, doesn't matter. How else would people be running B16's and B18C's off it? The others telling you to get the LS ecu apparently don't understand it either.

Yeah, noone here but us morons!

I know quite well a P28 can be chipped to run a DOHC, I've done it before. The issue is not about converting SOHC to DOHC, its running a non-VTEC engine with a VTEC ecu.

If you put an LS rom in there, its not looking for any "vtec" crap anyways. So why is this an issue? The ECU will simply not attempt to engage vtec. I fail to see why this will be an issue? I have run LS engines off chipped P28's before. Apparently you have not.

Apparently you missed my other point also. regardless of whether it runs, what a waste of a P28 to use for an LS, when he can get more than $100 for it if he sells it and pick up a non-VTEC ecu for nearly half the money.

Last I checked, the LS ecus sell for about the same, maybe slightly less. You do know you can convert those to run VTEC powered cars also, correct? You can also convert P28's to run IABS, etc..
