Default what to do when over tqed valve cover bolts

about 3months ago...i noticed my valve's bolts (the two next to distributor) were over tq's and nothing happened back then.....recently, 3 week...i decided to do some clean up work for my engine bay...i saw at one of the two bolts, there are oil surrounds...so i clean it up and two weeks later...i popped up the hood...and i saw oil again...

could it be the oil leak up thro the thread (over tq'ed) of the botl due the high pressure inside the valve? im sure it not from valve's gasket so...

give me some advices plz..thanx

If your PCV system is working right, there isn't high pressure in the valve cover.

Probably what you need is new rubber grommets for underneath the valve cover nuts. They get hard with heat & age, then they don't seal. (Just like the VC gasket itself.)

Overtorqued, you mean like broken? When I bought my car one of the valve cover studs that the spark plug cover goes onto (the inner four) was broken and could spin freely. Since it wasn't pressing down on the stud grommet, oil could come out and it made an oil stain around it on my valve cover. You'll need to remove the valve cover and replace the stud, pretty easy job.
