broken headlight mount..... first time JB weld ever failed me
hey fellas. the top mount of my passanger side headlight snap[ped off when i bottomed out a lil while ago. I JB welded it and put it back it, but it just snapped off again. what should i do? I was using my normal JB weld, maybe its not good for plastic?
Here's a picture of what broke: its the very top piece, where #8 bolts through the radiator support into the headlight. thanks folks.

JB weld the hell out of it again...First clean off the old stuff. I've used that stuff on my headlights, and damn, its pretty damn good stuff
is there anything strong i could use? it seems to break whenever i botom out so im guessing that if i do get a new headlight and bottom out again itll just break that one............ has this happened to anyone b4?
my headlight assembly broke also, but not from bottoming out....someone rear ended me and i hit the person in front of me....i tried using some type of silicon to put it back together and it held pretty well until my friend tried moving my headlight around. was looking into getting a whole new headlight assembly but its fairly expensive

Get a 2-part plastic epoxy from Home Depot and put as much on as you can after you clean the surface. It's made just for plastic.

^^ya that's the stuff.. you can even put an extra piece of plastic to make it thicker and reinforce the broken area.

JB WELD makes a plastic weld as well. look for it at home depot or any place like that. the normal stuff is formulated for metals.
Is it stuck on good? If you put some plastic stuff on, and the original JB Weld falls off, I don't think the stuff on top is going to stay either...
yes that why everyone said above to remove the old. dont just do the same thing, get some better glue or platic weld it. the plastic weld will probably be longest lasting. STOP BOTTOMING OUT!!!!
I work for a honda dealer and I drive a lude... this problem is very common. Most people don't want to buy a new headlight but the best fix we have come across is to put a screw in the hole next to the plastic bracket. Where the upper tie bar goes over the headlight there is a little dot of plastic that protrudes through a small (maybe 1/8" wide) hole, run a self-tapping screw into this location and it will hold the headlight very securely.
those brackets break all the time. use a zip tie, it's what me and my friends do
you cant tell so well on the drivers side picture here because the second zip tie is black. just use one ziptie around that metal piece then use another zip tie to secure that ziptie to the headlight. just play around with it...

i gotta run and and get some soon, itll prolly stay on well, but the only way ill tell if its working well is going around town and bottoming out. it sucks, those potholes they pave over, but they get torn up again, and they always are in the *** part of town in the middle of the night on long stretches of road just begging you to smash over them.
