has anyone got over 200 whp with a ls?
good luck .... i've been trying to attain that goal for a year , with tons of part changes and tunning and the best i have gotten out of an all motor ls is my current setup @ 167.4whp/ 142.3 trq,
also interested to see if anyone has hit 200 and what the setup is ....
ps. for a sub 170 hp ls in a hatch ... i run **** so i think 200 would be scary ....lol

My car has made 198/148 with my old b20 set up and the car ran a 12.4@107 in a street driven car thats in my sig. With a new b20 set up it made 195/138 on a dyno jet and it ran 12.12@111 in the same car. I'm not sure why it didnt make more on the dyno maybe the dyno was not set up right or was just a tight dyno, but both motors where in the same car but not on the same dyno, but with nothing changed to the car it ran 4mph faster with the new motor so I'm not sure about the dyno numbers and could really careless as long as it runs strong.
you need to stroke that **** and run it on straight race gas...i guess it would be attainable if you deckplated it. but that would be worthless... for someone to deny vtec so much.

The olny difference that I see is that it idles rough but other then that it seems to run right with the vtec cars.
Well said StyleTeg.
I made 196whp on a mustang dyno with my nonvtec setup. (mustangs read 10-15% lower than dynojets for a reference)... 200whp is easily attainable with the proper modifications.

i have never heard of them being 10-15% lower. are you sure about that? and how do they compare to a dynopack?

the LS Non-vtec motor is so underrated. Its a fun motor to build up if you like that wild old school lopey cam feel. hehe.
200hp is possible with the right compression and cam. on a non-vtec setup, whether its a sohc or dohc, the motor is awaken when you use the right camshaft.
if anyone is interested in trying out one of our LS camshafts. let me know. We'll get you a good deal on a set. We just want more LS enthusiasts out there in the scene.
let's not forget the non-vtec.

my stock ls with crower 404's i/h/e made 150whp, so yes i could see 200 being an easy goal. with some more compresion and flow i don't see why not. o yea **** some vtec!

Yes I'm sure. the internet is a very powerful tool. Search honda-tech, search the web. You'll find many articles on it.
and btw Dynapacks always read higher than dynojets.

I have that too that dynopacks read higher, but are more accurate do to the fact that they can be more effectively calibrated.

I hope to hit around 180's with a b20b with a near stock block (arp rod bolts). Its the head that will be set up for it, and the benefit of having 84mm bore, p&p 94 LS head, milled 30 thousandths, cometic head gasket, crower v/t package, skunk2 i/m, DC jdm 4-1 header, and many other bolt-ons. I still have 94 ls cams in it for right now, im still debating on 404's or the 403's. Im just not wanting a nasty idle. This will be daily driven so i want to make sure its going to be reliable.
Ide say with a b20b/z it would be easy to hit the 200hp mark while staying non-vtec!
- for non-vtec'rs

it should not be hard at all to hit 200whp with a b20,with a b18 it ll just be very hard but not impossible, with my old b20z motor w/no name brand i/h/e and fpr set @43 i made 137whp/140lbs no tunning,w/tunning i should have seen at least 145whp, so i say if i did build it to produce around 200whp torque would be around 175lbs which is way more than any vtec car would even dream about making @200whp.
