Default Adjusting cable clutch

I put a new tranny into my 91 civic hatch with b18 swap. Now the clutch slips a lot. How can i fix this problem? I do not think the clutch is bad because it worked perfectly fine before the tranny swap. This is a cable clutch.

hows the pedal feel? Does the clutch slip while you've been in geer for a matter of time, or is it just sloppy when you dont rev match? Did the clutch stay open to weather for any period of time before the tranny got put back on? more info

The pedal feels a little softer than before. I can push the pedal down 3/4 of the way to disengage it. And i have to push it all of the way down and let it up before it will engage. If i give it any decent amount of gas the rpms climb with no acceleration. The clutch wasnt exposed to weather besides the exposure through the hole on the other side by the shift linkages.

hmmm. i dunno then really. have u tried adjusting your clutch travel at all? i'd back it off just a tad and see if it feels any different at all. i got dead lucky when i did my cluthc swap, i just tightened the cable up guessingly, and tested to see how it felt... it was perfect, that doesnt happen very often on my car.

Am i understanding this right......you changed out your tranny completely and now your clutch feels bad??? If so, then the clutch on the tranny you swapped in was bad......unless you took that out of the other tranny before you swapped it???

loosen the clutch cable a little bit. you need some free play in there for it to feel right.

the motor was previously swaped and ran fine, i blew the tranny up and swapped it cause of the excessivly large hole in it.

you want about 1/16" of freeplay in the cable down at the arm on the tranny.

Mine slips too it sucks.

i dont think its ur pedal freeplay at all. Sounds like you have oil or grease on the clutch and pressure plate surface.

it might be fluids... or possible adjustment of the clutch. do both. I had the worst time enguaging the clutch but i adjusted the clutch cable and put fluids in and it works fine now.

i was getting the same thing from my clutch but i adjusted it and i have the same problem it's the the tranny. i struggle to get in frist gear unless i'm completely stopped and if i'm moving at all backwards before i shift into reverse i get a small grind sound but back to the clutch once i adjusted it my clutch didn't slip anymore and i don't have the tranny shield on so it is wheather exposed.

on the front of the tranny there an arm (most likely black) follow that to the top of the transmission and turn the nut on there... turn and test frequently until you find a happy medium.
