Couple questions about these solenoids...
So these bad boys are normally sittin on my firewall, chillin, havin a beer...ya know.

My questions:
1. Are they necessary to retain for an engine that will be using ITB's? and if so,
2. Has anyone placed them in a different spot so that they're more easily hidden?
I'm bored today and kinda cleanin up the engine bay a little...re-routing wiring down lower so it's less visible, moving the underhood fuse box inside the car, etc. etc. Little stuff to clean up. Just wondering if I need to keep those suckas where they are or if they can be tossed/moved.

The one on the right is the MAP sensor, the one in the middle is the dashpot control solenoid, and the one on the left is the purge cut-off control solenoid for the evap canister. If you have a different MAP sensor, toss that one, if you have thrown away the dashpot like a smart person, toss the middle one, and if you aren't using the evap canister, toss the last one.
If your car is running fine with those sitting on the ground like that, you're ok...

well, there's no engine in the bay, so it's not really running at all.
basically, i'll probably be using a stock honda map sensor (not boosting), won't really have a dashpot to speak of with ITB's, and as for an evap canister--well, i'll be using the endyn catch can setup, but really don't have much to worry about emissions-wise so i'll probably lose the evap canister as well.
so by that rationale it's safe to just grab the map sensor, mount that where my little heart desires, and toss the rest?

I'd keep the vacuum line to the map sensor as short as possible to give it a fast response, but it can go anywhere, like under the ITBs or something. Keep the line under a couple feet though, I wouldn't put it inside the car.
oh lord yes...map sensor will be on the underside of the ITB assembly.
i just wanna make sure i'm not gonna hurt anything by gettin rid of those other two big guys. thanks a heap!
now that my question has been answered, here's a picture of 3 cute ferrets.
