Default car not starting. please help

I go to start the car, it clicks as i put in the clutch and turn the key but it doesnt crank. took my battery to autozone to get it tested, battery is fine. I have to pushstart it to get it going. is it a bad starter or alternator?

is there any corrosion on your battery terminals? if so, get a battery brush and clean your connections. also, try tapping on the starter with a wrench or something and see if that will get the car to start. if it does, then your starter is going bad. from what you've described it doesn't sound like it's your alternator.

if your battery is ok then i dont believe it would have anything to do with your alternator...
clean your terminals
if that dosnt work... starter

Got a multi-meter? While trying to start, see whether there's a lot of voltage drop across ANY of the big cables, where they're attached either to the battery, or body, or wherever. Including the ground cable from engine to body. Anywhere that has a big drop, take it off, clean it, put it back tight.

While trying to start, what's the voltage directly across the battery posts? Then what's the voltage from the big (+) wire on the starter, to ground?

I thought you said you had the battery tested and it was fine?

Glad your car starts again though....

Did you measure the voltages at terminals & drop across cables?

Sometimes parts stores don't test correctly, but sometimes it's just cleaning the clamps by taking them off & putting them back on.

its not the distributor because he said he can push start it. Clean the battery terminals, if it isn't that, its definetely your starter.
