Default valve to valve and valve to piston clearance registry!

Post the following:

-head
-material removed from head (how much milled)
-block
-material removed from block (how much decked)
-piston make/ model/ size/ compression ratio
-piston-to-deck height clearance
-valve stem install height
-headgasket make and thickness
-cam make and size
-size of valves and type
-and most importantly what you've clayed the motor at or max advance/ retard you've used.

Myself:
-stock itr head, never been milled or parted from the block
-itr block, never been decked
-oem headgasket (stock)
-toda spec b cams
-stock valves
-gone as much as +15deg int, -10deg exh as measured on the cam gears.

I think you should add piston-to-deck height clearance and valve stem install height to the listing.

That will help people to account for changes in compression height & block decking, and any sinking of the valves from multiple valve jobs or purposeful sinking.

I'll provide as much info as I can on the engine I have the most info on:

Stock ITR head - stock ITR valves, unchanged stem install height, no decking
JUN Type 3 cams
.067" head gasket

B18C5 block
PCT .25OS pistons
+.035" piston-to-deck height clearance (it had been decked probably around .032" to .033")

Measured max. adv/ret in degrees of camshaft rotation:
EX = -1 degree (measured cam angle, not crank); clearance was just under 2mm (.0787")
IN = +4 degrees (measured cam angle, not crank); we could have kept going...probably another couple of cam degreees before hitting the minimum 1mm of designated clearance.

I'll do another one with my engine using JDM ITR pistons and Crower 63413's.

.....made the suggested changes.

FWIW, I believe my buddy with jun 3's in itr motor with ctr pistons said a shop told him no more than +/- three degrees on either cam with the ctr pistons.....

I believe it was yoshio that told him that.

Yeah, you definitely don't get a lot with the JUN 3's.
