Suggestions on what I need to check...
I just got a 94 LS 2 weeks ago from someone off of h-t. Anyways, the car has the stock motor with b16 pistons. The car is burning some oil. I've looked under the car and have seen some on the bottom of the oil pan, as well as some slightly behind the oil pan on another piece. There is also some oil underneath the valve cover and on the block.
The car has smoked maybe once when I cranked it up, and temperature is fine while driving it. Could it be a leaky headgasket, valve cover gasket, oil pan....???
I'm wondering what measures I should take to find out exactly what. I'm thinking possibly head gasket, seeing as how on the oil pan I've seen a few drops of anti-freeze. But, it could be the rings from those pistons too. I'm at a loss here. Shoot me some suggestions.

update....I was thinking maybe the cam seal also but I just checked and no oil around it at all. The oil seems to be built up going down the left side of the block, but when it leaves drops on the ground it is on the driver's side which would be my right if looking over the engine. Any suggestions?
Is there anywhere where you can visibly see the streaks of oil running down the head or the block? You could try tracing it if there is some sort of stream of oil and coolant leaking.
spray ur motor on the outside with BrakCleaner and get it spotless (no visible oil on ur long block). then drive around a block or two and see where the oil is present. u think its burning oil too bu i doubt it, just find a leak, fix it and ur car should keep ur oil level. but if u really think its buring oil, check the color or ur exhaust, if its black, ur burning oil, if its white, ur burning coolant.
yeah, i've only seen it smoke once and that was after it had sat a week and it was white....right at startup. I'm going to have to clean that off and see what I can find....could I be dealing with a distributor cap or gasket problem possibly?
I have seen quite a few DOHC engines (mine included) that drip oil from the valve cover when removed and not sealed correctly afterwards.
how did u know it has b16 pistons anyways ? btw u need to change ur headgasket, valve cover gasket and ur oil pan gasket so pretty u changing all the gasket.. gud luck
