Default Skunk2 Exhaust system

I have a skunk2 exhaust system on my crx. Will splitting the pipe and add another attachment exhaust making into two seperate exhaust be louder? Just curious.

I kinda had the idea of doing my exhaust into a 2 way. Like this . .

Keep in mind, not trying to make it into them ricer looks . . lol

1) You dont' NEED two pipes. 4 cylinders only. 2) It MIGHT make it quieter, but is the extra cost that much worth it? And the time spent, etc. Just put a silencer in it, I'm almost certain I saw this skunk2 setup come WITH one...?

It did come with one, But i was thinking about having duel side exhaust. So if it does have any sound difference then i'll grab another skunk2 exhaust and split the pipe and welding it over to the other on ;] Planning to do it by myself so beside the cost of buying the skunk2 exhaust, it won't cost much.

What about changing your piping size? Wider or skinnier, I can't remember which makes it quieter, but skinnier may knock...well...it WILL most likely knock out some power...

I still think 4cyl. = 1 pipe. But I mean style is everything, and your car should be what you want in it. I considered dual, but I just heard that it won't help me with power much if any at all. Anti-rice...

not worrying about horsies. In time i'll have enough horsies more than u can imagine Fully built gsr internals. Looking for a turbo that can withstand up to 700 hp. Right now, focusing on the back end of the exhaust.

here's my exhaust right now, It's tilted

and my rex don't look like what i posted. I do not want it to look like that. Cause i think it's **** except the exhaust

my crx was running a skunk2 with 2.5 in pipe, and it was as loud as a Sasquatch holler ( and thats loud ) the silencer does just about nothing to quiet it down but if you are running smalla' pipe and 2 skunk's i dont think it should be too bad.

i had a friend with a 1999 civic SI with axle back daul exhaust and it sounded pretty good. but made it a little be louder to. but when he went to the track with stock exhaust he ran a better time then when he went with the daul exhaust. i say do it if you want, but i don't think it is really worth it. by the way he has now changed to a greddy cat-back. he said now it feels like he gained power not lost it. hope this helps

I threw up on mine.

Haha, this reminds me of this Rav4 back when I was in high school. It had a dual exhaust setup, but in winter, I would only see steam come out of the right side. I don't know why, but everytime I saw that, I would laugh...funny I guess.

i'm sorry, but talking about "700hp GSR motors" and having a picture of that blue Crx in the SAME thread must be some type of sin. Some of you are going to hell...

if your so worried about making power, then get a custom straight 3 inch the whole way with a decent resinator and that greddy muffler you have. will sound good, and make the most of the turbo. less bends means better flow which means more power. adding another outlet with twice the bends in it will lose you power. if you put a second muffler on it, sell me your motor and go back to a dpfi 1.5 liter like the rest of the people with one of these:

theres also a cat back ive seen that has very few bends, instead of having the last portion of it Z shaped it cuts diagonally across the last half of the car, i think it even uses stock hanging locations, this is similar to it:

the 45 degree angle the muffler sits on looks much cooler then two, and anyone who knows what theyre talking about would respect your car 10 times more if they saw that on the back of it. i dont know how to explain it any better, if you like sitting in the pep boys parking lot and want to impress the morons with their moms cavaliers, or really put good power to the ground. up to you.

sorry to seem kinda rude, but you have a nice swap in there, let the cars bark do the talking, and let your car be what it is, not a pontiac grand am.

if you do go with a dual exhaust liek that, i'd throw on 2 silencers, it'll stop up the flow enough to still allow you to keep a better low end torque set up like having a single exhaust.
